Let me start by saying I've done a lot of business with Van Horn over the years. 2 trucks and 1 4 runner. Sales and management outside of the actual service area has been outstanding. Dilema: Had my oil changed little over a month ago. My 4runner checked out perfect. Service: "Just think about doing the rear brakes". Me: No problem set it for first week in September Pull outside the service bay at 6:55. They open at 7am. Pull into the service bay 7:01 and you could cut the tension with a knife. Most of the service team was cheerful and greeting folks. The guy I was working with woke up on the wrong side of the bed. Wasn't Rude, but just just shy of it. Receive a text/email 2-3 hours later. Your 4runner needs brakes everywhere and your tires need to be replaced asap! Ok, folks...I work from home and drive less than few thousand miles a month since this last visit! $1300 for tires? little under $1000 for the brakes when I just received a positive report except the rear brakes 5 weeks ealier (Remember I work from home) Critical attention needed? In my 50 years I've always heard of this nonsense from dealerships, but NEVER had this pulled on me. Well, I must've had sucker written on me Wednesday morning. pfffff If you're reading this review do yourself a favor and find service elsewhere. I've tried for years to make it work with van horn service. Bottom Line - Van Horn Service is less than 1 star, but the sales side is 5 stars -- good folks.. Not sure how or why the business model is so different between the two areas, but the management team needs to wake up and evaluate the business.
