2020 Ram ProMaster
2020 Ram ProMaster Review
Is the 2020 Ram ProMaster Right for You?
What Is It and Who Is It For?
The 2020 Ram ProMaster is a full-size commercial van that seats up to three people. It’s meant for drivers who need to haul more cargo than a pickup truck or regular minivan can handle. Buyers can choose from multiple available roofs and wheelbases, as well as flexible cargo options.
What Makes It Unique?
Unlike other full-size cargo vans, the ProMaster only comes with front-wheel drive, not rear-wheel drive.
ProMaster vs. Other Rams
In Ram’s van lineup, the full-size ProMaster sits above the compact ProMaster City.
Ram ProMaster vs. Competition
Cargo vans aren’t very popular, but there are a few competitors in the class that compete with the ProMaster:
Ford Transit: Can be fitted with extra convenience features and all-wheel drive.
Mercedes-Benz Sprinter: The most luxurious and tech-forward choice in the segment.
Nissan NV: Can be fitted with a more powerful V8 engine with better towing capacity.
Is the 2020 Model Year Right for You?
Changes for 2020
Three new ProMaster vans, each with 136-inch wheelbase, have joined the lineup.
Towing capacity increases to 7,110 pounds with available towing package.
2020 Ram ProMaster vs. Older ProMasters
Ram may have added a few new versions of the ProMaster to the lineup for the 2020 model year, but the cargo van hasn’t been fully redesigned since the 2014 model year. That means any ProMaster model from 2014 to 2020 will have similar features and look similar. You could save money by choosing a used ProMaster.

3500 Cargo: $37,590

We recommend the 1500 Cargo trim. Similar to heavy-duty pickup trucks, the 1500, 2500, and 3500 denominations denote capability. With a 5,100-pound towing capacity and 4,000-pound payload capacity, the 1500 Cargo should meet the needs of most buyers.

Consumer Reviews
Do the maintenence religiously. Oil changes at 3.5 or 4k. Drive sanely. These vehicles will last, trouble free.
This van has had transmission issues. Finally the transmission had to be replaced. There was an 8 month waiting list for a new one, so I had a $60,000 brick.
Trouble-free car has only ever needed routine maintenance. Great legroom in the front and back. I'm happy with the mileage on the highway.
Great car, perfect for a van conversion and weekend camper van. However the transmission went out at 95,000. Nor great longevity.
I love this van ! i definitely recommend this van !!!
