2010 Honda Accord Review
If you’re looking for a car with a roomy cabin, you’ll want to consider the 2010 Honda Accord. The Accord boasts a spacious interior decked with high-quality materials, and it also provides pleasant handling.
The 2010 Honda Accord is a midsize car that’s offered as a coupe or a sedan. Both body styles seat five passengers. The sedan is available in four trims: LX, LX-P, EX and EX-L. Coupes come in three trims: LX-S, EX and EX-L. Front-wheel drive is standard across the lineup.
For 2010, EX trims receive a trunk lid liner, and Bluetooth is now standard for EX-L models. Also, EX and EX-L sedans add rear-seat ventilation ducts.
Exterior
The Accord sedan’s exterior looks upscale and confident. It features a distinctive six-sided grille, flared fenders and character lines sculpted into the sides of the sheet metal. Building on the sedan ’s design cues, the coupe boasts a longer hood and a sleek roofline.
Base models come with daytime running lights. With coupes, 17-inch wheels are standard, while sedans are equipped with standard 16-inch wheels. The range of optional equipment across both body styles includes heated side mirrors, a power sunroof and fog lights. Sedans are available with 17-inch wheels, while coupes can be upgraded with 18-inch wheels.
Interior
Within its cabin, the Accord features attractive design cues. The dual-level dashboard swoops down right above the gear shifter, creating a point of interest. Overall, build quality is superb. There’s lots of room for front passengers across both body styles, and the sedan provides ample legroom. The coupe’s trunk offers 11.9 cubic feet of storage space, while the sedan’s trunk provides 14 cubic feet of capacity.
Standard equipment in the base sedan includes power windows and door locks, a tilt-and-telescoping steering column and fold-down rear seats. Heated front seats, a power-adjustable driver’s seat, leather upholstery, a leather-wrapped steering wheel and dual-zone automatic climate control are available.
Performance
In both body styles, the Accord provides agreeable handling, but the coupe delivers sharper, more engaging driving dynamics. All models come with front-wheel drive, and buyers can choose between a five-speed manual transmission and a five-speed automatic.
Three engine choices are available. Under the hood of the LX and LX-P sedans is a 2.4-liter four-cylinder that makes 177 horsepower and 161 pound-feet of torque. An upgraded version of that powerplant comes in EX sedans and all coupes, and it’s good for 190 horsepower and 161 pound-feet of torque. EX models are also offered with a 3.5-liter V6 engine that generates up to 271 horsepower and 254 pound-feet of torque.
The Accord achieves EPA-estimated mileage of up to 22/31 mpg city/highway.
Technology
The 2010 Honda Accord comes with a respectable lineup of technology amenities. Base sedans are fitted with a six-speaker stereo, a CD/MP3 player and an auxiliary input jack. The base coupe is equipped with an in-dash six-CD changer.
The list of optional equipment includes navigation, a premium stereo, Bluetooth connectivity and satellite radio.
