“While I am not a customer of this fine dealership yet, I have a story to tell about why, when the time comes for me to purchase a car, Upgrade Auto Sale is the only dealership that will earn my business.
My story began when searching for a 2023 Dodge Charger SXT. Like many, I hit Auto Trader, Edmonds, Kelly Blue Book and Car Gurus. And then "CarFax", whose "AI" probably tracked me, sent me an email with a 2023 Charger SXT at Upgrade Auto Sale.
It's important to let the reader know I reached out to a handful of other dealerships that had similar vehicles. I reached out to both national and privately owned dealerships, whose names I will not share. Suffice it to say, that only Upgrade Auto Sale warmly and safely welcomed my contact. The others all the did the same "hurry up, giddy up". Their approach and demeanor turned me off. It is important for me as a potential buyer, to feel "safe" and not "pushed" by a seller.
Hands down, the very first time I connected with Wendy, and then Finance Manager Naji, they welcomed my inquiry about the car I was interested in. They both made me feel like I was not only their only customer, but made me feel like I was part of their family. Together we negotiated a deal on the car, and I accepted their proposal. In fact, to me, it was a deal almost too good to say no to. I quickly gave credit card data to secure a "non-refundable" deposit, to hold the car. Since I live in Central California, five hours away from Southgate, we scheduled my bringing my trade in to complete the deal in two days.
After the call, I ran and re-ran the numbers, telling myself I needed to "sleep on it". After a restless night, stressed out, I finally realized I was making a BIG mistake, that the cash I would need to close the deal would be important for me to have, when my house for sale sells. I realized that the amount of cash that would be needed to buy the car we had negotiated, would be necessary for me to buy my next house in the south bay.
I reached out to both Wendy and Naji, explained my needing to "back out of the deal". Naji's compassion was over whelming, unexpected and deeply appreciated. He even told me he would refund half of the "non-refundable" deposit, which I didn't expect. He said that my complete satisfaction was more important to him than a car deal, and in fact did refund half the deposit immediately. In all of my years buying personal cars, this outcome, is something I would never expect from a car dealer. Naji's empathetic response made me feel like I was important to him; like I was a part of his family.
