I brought my truck in because the check engine light came on and the power had dropped noticeably. After running a diagnostic, they determined the issue was a severely clogged engine air filter. I was charged a diagnostic fee, which I would understandexcept the part that concerns me is this: just 30 days prior, this same shop performed an oil change and claimed to have completed a multi-point inspection.
If they truly inspected the vehicle as they said, the condition of the air filter should've been caught then. According to the technician, the air filter was in such bad shape it was actually restricting airflow to the engine. So, my question ishow does a vehicle go from "everything's good" to "the air filter is so bad it's choking the engine" in only 30 days?
It appears as if the shop is lying to their customers as to what is being done to their vehicles. I think it's time to find a more honest repair shop.

Thank you for taking the time to leave us your feedback. I have spoken with the service manager regarding your concerns. He wanted me to apologize that your air filter was missed during your MPVI. The service manager will coach the deck that did your oil change. I have taken the liberty of refunding the card you used in the amount of $200 which is the amount of diagnostic because this should have been caught when you had your service done on 5/5. We truly hope that you consider us in the future.

I lost control of my 6 month old Chevy 3 times in the rain, while turning, within a 15 minute period. I took it to Jim Butler, Fenton, for a 9 a. m. appt. That only means your car gets checked in at 9 a. m., then your car goes into a wait-list period, NOT to have a person look at your car. They text you once a day to let you know if you got assigned to a tech, but that doesn't mean your car is getting diagnosed! When I called to get an update, I can only talk to the advisor or the tech assigned to my car, both were busy, so I had to wait yet another day just to hear that my car still hasn't even been looked or diagnosed yet! I was told they'd have my car 2-3 days bc I dropped it off Friday morning. I didn't get my car til Wednesday evening. No rental car was offered or available. I have NEVER experienced anything like this at Mazda, Buick or Honda. I'm used to having an appointment mean your car gets looked at in that timeframe! Just like at a doctor's office! I took it to Jim Butler, Fenton, bc it was close, but I will drive to a Chevy dealership further away if possible in the future. If this issue happens again, where I lose control of my car during turning, and they can't find anything wrong and it takes 4 days just to find that out, I will not be keeping my Chevy nor getting another one. As I am now uncomfortable driving it in the rain.
