The quality of the used 4 series was pretty good (4 stars), the customer service / experience with Robert Pellegrino was so-so (2 stars).
Let me preface by saying that I didn't really care about establishing a rapport with the sales associate (Robert Pelligino) as much as finding a great car at a great deal, which I did. The balance of these experiences equates to a 3 star review.
Robert was very engaged and professional up to and before I verbally decided on purchasing the vehicle. I was purchasing online from Idaho and having the vehicle shipped from NY. The convertible had many calls on it and Robert kept me 1st in line while we figured out the specifics of making the transaction (which I greatly appreciated).
The tone changed on the next call after I confirmed that I was going to purchase this with Robert asking "How are you going to send me the money" and then retorting with a "What's the Problem!? Why can't you just wire me the money?" when I expressed to him that I was going to get the car financed through my Credit Union. I wasn't thrilled with telling him that I refused to liquidate my positions in such a volatile market and instead could get a 5% interest rate with my 835 credit score.
Then the ensuing professionalism continued a steep downward decline with my credit union needing Robert to remove some erroneous fees from the BOS and include the actual mileage.
He then included the mileage by whiting out an incorrect odometer reading (and writing this down in pen) and misspelled my: Name, city, and zip code on the BOS (which he originally got right).
When I called him about this I received a "I'm with a customer right now." The feel was that my $22K car that I found on cars.com was superseded by newer models that would bring in more commission from individuals physically at the location.
My credit union grew suspect of the dealership, as franchise dealers usually don't make these types of errors on BOS's (including using white-out).
It was then like pulling more teeth with Robert sending in another BOS, which again omitted the mileage. He became very defensive and blamed the Credit Union for not "locating this," when in fact he failed to include the odometer reading (again).
Finally on the 4th try he got the BOS correct. I was told that the car would get a detailing, and I can assure you that if the dealer did this, then it was...not good. A model like this isn't going to be insanely dirty in the first place, but I have had to deep clean and polish leather, trim, accessories, etc. to get this to professional quality.
Overall, I obtained the vehicle I wanted from Robert. Great! Was it hectic?...heck yes! But I found that the wasted time and lack of attention to detail was worth getting the vehicle I wanted at the price I wanted (Robert also knocked off $1K to accommodate 1/2 of the shipping cost, thank you). Would I purchase from this establishment again? Yes. I can handle all the unnecessary back and forth and calling out the dealer for their errors. But I probably wouldn't recommend this dealership to my parents or anyone who is more timid about pointing out obvious errors.

Excellent experience with the service dept at Habberstad BMW Bay Shore. My advisor is Luis Naranjo and am never upsold/oversold and get the most meticulous care as a client. Luis is a long time member of BMW family and knows the models well, and what needs servicing. He makes me feel like family and it's so appreciated. This recent experience was for a part covered by warranty, and the bonus is a loaner car as needed. I could not speak higher for Mr Naranjo or the service dept at Habberstad Bay Shore.
