Took our car in for a diagnostic because the check engine light came on. They said that our battery was too dead to run the diagnostic and quoted a crazy amount for a new battery. They said that we could bring a battery and they could finish it. We agreed that is what we would do. On the way there I was seriously questioning whether or not to have them to proceed because we hadn't experienced anything that would have pointed to a dead battery. And we had just had a general diagnostic done at AutoZone and it all went well. Well, by the time we got there to pick up the dead battery, they had already done a tune up and replaced the spark plugs. Without asking us if we wanted to proceed. At that point I felt trapped into paying almost $400 that I hadn't authorized. They did offer to take out the new spark plugs and put the old ones back in. How long would that have taken? They already had our car 2 days. So I paid. Not good business.
