2019 Ford F-350 Review
Pros
- Torque-rich optional diesel engine
- Strong towing and payload capacity
Cons
- Jarring ride on rough pavement
- Competitors have more comfortable seats
The 2019 Ford F-350 carries a robust standard suspension and is available with dual rear wheels to handle some of the work site’s toughest jobs. Yet the F-350 also has its softer side, thanks to luxury features more often found on premium sedans. We’re talking about options like climate-controlled seating, front-seat massage capability and advanced technologies.
Part of Ford’s Super Duty roster, the 2019 F-350 is a heavy-duty full-size pickup that can provide six seating positions in some cab styles. It is offered in XL, XLT, Lariat, King Ranch, Platinum and Limited trim levels, all of which come standard with a V8 engine mated to a six-speed automatic transmission. Rear-wheel drive is also standard, and four-wheel drive optional.
Newly available equipment includes a Bang & Olufsen audio system, a mobile Wi-Fi hotspot and a Sport package with blacked-out exterior details for the F-350 Lariat.
Exterior
The F-350 puts on a bold face with thick grille bars and a prominent front bumper, while dramatic headlights add a modern touch. You can recognize the models with dual rear wheels by their massive extended fenders. The standard body configuration for the F-350 is a two-door regular cab with an 8-foot cargo box. Ford also offers “Super Cab” and crew cab versions of the F-350. The former has traditional front doors and smaller rear doors that are hinged at the back. With the latter, four conventional doors are standard. Both four-door body styles can be matched with 6-foot-9-inch and 8-foot cargo beds.
The F-350 counts automatic halogen headlights, front tow hooks, manually adjustable trailer mirrors, 17-inch painted steel wheels and a lockable and removable tailgate among its standard features. It offers a number of functional enhancements for the cargo box as well. These include optional LED lighting, a tailgate step, stowable loading ramps and a remote tailgate release. For a more upscale vibe, the F-350 is available with LED headlights, LED fog lights, LED roof-marker lights, a dual-pane moonroof, heated power-adjustable mirrors and aluminum-alloy wheels that are up to 20 inches in diameter.
Interior
The F-350’s dashboard features a large, angular setting for the center stack and climate vents, and that’s set off by the creased hood for the instrument panel. Upper and lower glove boxes are standard on the passenger’s side of the dash. All cab styles have a standard 40/20/40-split bench up front, and a 60/40-split bench is standard in Super Cab and crew cab pickups. Rear under-seat storage is also standard in the four-door cab styles.
The entry model for the F-350 is a basic work truck with standard air conditioning, vinyl seating, manual windows, manual door locks and a manual tilt-and-telescoping steering column. That said, higher trims and an extensive options list can bring in a number of available features. A highlight is an available pair of climate-controlled front seats with a massage function. You’ll also find optional equipment like heated second-row bucket seats, dual-zone automatic climate control, power-adjustable pedals and a heated leather-wrapped multifunction steering wheel with a power-adjustable column.
Performance
The standard powertrain for the F-350 is anchored by a 6.2-liter V8 that produces 385 horsepower and 430 pound-feet of torque. A turbodiesel 6.7-liter V8 is optional, and it brings 450 horsepower and 935 pound-feet of torque. Rear-wheel drive and a six-speed automatic transmission with a tow/haul mode is standard in all F-350 trims. Four-wheel drive is available across the lineup.
The F-350 is also available with dual rear wheels and a fifth-wheel/gooseneck prep package, and that combination enables a tow rating of 21,000 pounds.
The EPA doesn’t publish fuel-efficiency ratings for heavy-duty pickup trucks like the F-350.
Technology
Without standard Bluetooth or a touchscreen, the 2019 F-350 offers fewer standard features than a comparable 2019 Chevrolet Silverado 3500HD. A rearview camera, a 2.3-inch instrument-panel display and an AM/FM stereo are standard for the F-350.
Available safety technology includes adaptive cruise control, blind spot monitoring with trailer coverage, forward collision warning with brake support and an “Ultimate Trailer Tow Camera System.” This can have up to seven cameras, including a detachable one you can mount on the back of your trailer. For extra help backing up, or maneuvering in tight spots, an optional adaptive steering system can automatically adjust how much effort it takes to turn the wheel.
Ford also offers a wide range of available infotainment upgrades for the truck. Leading the way are a navigation system, Sync 3 technology, an 8-inch touchscreen, mobile Wi-Fi, Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, Bluetooth and a 10-speaker B&O Play audio system with 1,000 watts of power.

2019 Ford F-350 Reviews
Consumer Reviews
Extremely comfortable truck. The Limited package has the nicest interior I have seen. My only complaint is with the fuel economy.
This is one tough truck, have owned 3 ford trucks, F-150, F-250, F-350. Currently driving the 350 for farm use, this truck is awesome for keeping the horses taken care of. It can haul anything needed to the barn through 16" deep mud, snow you name it. It will also haul 3 horses in 3 horse trailer loaded with gear, tack weight around 9,800 and you don't even know it's there, uphills, downhills, any kind of weather! If your looking for the absolute best truck for hauling loads you found it in a F-350!!
One of the best truck I ever owned
Overall excellent truck. Only complaint is the exterior cameras all went bad.
So far 170k miles and it's been solid, 1 of the best truck I've owned.
