2019 Ford Econoline Review
Pros
- Durable chassis can underpin a variety of heavy-duty commercial vehicles
- Strong V10 engine
Cons
- Cargo and passenger models unavailable
The 2019 Ford Econoline is a full-size van platform with available cutaway and stripped-chassis configurations; it’s meant for commercial purposes.
The Econoline, also known as the brand’s E-Series van, is second only to the F-150 pickup in terms of longevity in the Ford lineup. For 2019, it’s available only in cutaway and stripped-chassis versions, which can be used as the basis for any number of heavy-duty special-purpose vehicles. It’s powered by a standard 305-horsepower 6.8-liter V10 engine that drives the rear wheels via a 6-speed automatic transmission. An available flex-fuel 6.2-liter V8 makes 331 horsepower.

2019 Ford Econoline vs. the Competition
The Econoline’s closest rivals have wider model lines, including cargo and passenger versions:
Chevrolet Express: Another aging model built for cargo, livery, or custom use.
Ford Transit: Ford’s modern van comes in standard and cutaway models.
GMC Savana: Equivalent to the Chevy Express, it’s another throwback commercial model.

2019 Ford Econoline Reviews
Consumer Reviews
This chassis was built as a motorhome which means it is heavier than a regular Econoline, but drive and handles well.
Reliable. had to replace the lighting circuit board in the RV section. Other than that; no issues!
Great, drives and handles fine.
