2010 BMW 1 Series
2010 BMW 1 Series Review
The 2010 BMW 1 Series is a subcompact, luxury sports coupe and convertible seating four people. It’s a lithe and lively option as a weekend car, or the sole ride for drivers who can get by without a larger, more practical vehicle.
The 1 Series is essentially a 3 Series that’s been stripped to its core, and it makes for a budget-minded – and in some ways more fun to drive – alternative. Available as a coupe and convertible, the 1 Series shares its sibling’s 230- and 300-horsepower inline-6-cylinder engines, which seem livelier in the 1 Series’ smaller and lighter package. A 6-speed manual transmission is standard, with a 6-speed automatic optional. The car’s handling is, of course, first rate, though its ride is far from smooth. The convertible is a standout as a personal reward ride.
BMW 1 Series Changes for 2010

- Mercedes-Benz CLS:
Graceful and playful coupe with a choice of strong engines.
What's the Best 2010 BMW 1 Series Trim for You?
Which Trim Is the Best Value
The base 128i coupe is the best deal here. It has the 230-horsepower engine and essential features, including alloy wheels, cruise control, a tilt/telescoping steering wheel, rain-sensing wipers, and a 10-speaker CD stereo.
Best Trim for Fuel Economy
The 2010 BMW 1 Series is most fuel-frugal in its 128i configuration. This version of both the coupe and convertible earned a decent EPA rating of 22 mpg combined city/highway when equipped with the standard manual transmission. An automatic 128i coupe earned the same rating, though an automatic convertible 128i came in a touch lower, at 21 mpg.
Best Trim for Cargo Space
The 2010 BMW 1 Series coupe can hold 10 cubic feet of stowage in its trunk. The convertible comes in a couple cubic feet less.
Top-of-the-Line Trim
The 135i coupe and convertible sit atop the 1 Series line, featuring the more-powerful engine, a sport-tuned suspension, automatic climate control, and a sunroof. It can be further equipped with optional sport seats, ambient lighting, rear park assist, heated front seats, and more.

Consumer Reviews
Exactly what it should be. It's a small, compact sports car. Fun to drive and handles incredibly. Rock solid engine and suspension. Comfortable on every length trip. Gas mileage is exactly what you would expect from a vehicle in this category.
With some replacement of some of the plastic parts and improving the air intake and exhaust systems the N54 becomes an incredible high performance engine it's weight and short wheel base make it the early version of BMW's best performance car
Most fun to drive compared to all others I've owned.
Silky smooth 3.0L 6 cylinder with a GM 6-speed transmission; not the best choice for transmissions, but if you change the "lifetime" fluid and filter every 60K miles it will last longer. Super fun to drive! Good power & torque with an excellent ride & great handling! We're getting 24 MPG (indicated on the lie-O-meter) in mixed driving.
Trouble free car only needs regular maintenance fund to drive
