2009 Acura RL
2009 Acura RL Review
The 2009 Acura RL is a midsize car that can seat up to five people. It’s meant for small families that need a midsize sedan with great crash-test scores or drivers who want a car that’s packed with standard features. The RL is one of the sportier cars in the segment with good handling thanks to an advanced all-wheel-drive (AWD) system and a firm suspension that allows limited body roll. With excellent build quality and premium interior features, the RL also has an upscale cabin that cocoons passengers in luxury. And Acura sells this car with advanced tech features that are intuitive and easy to use.
The RL stands out in the midsize segment because of its standard AWD system, great crash-test scores, lengthy list of standard features, advanced tech features, and upscale cabin. Keep in mind, though, it trails key rivals when it comes to engine performance, fuel economy, and cargo capacity. Unlike a lot of its competitors, the RL is only available with a 3.7-liter V6 engine. While the V6 brings a good amount of performance, some rivals are available with more powerful V8 engines. With a combined fuel economy rating of up to 18 mpg combined, it also trails rivals that are available with more efficient engines. Lastly, the RL’s trunk has 13.1 cubic feet of cargo space, which is a low figure for the segment.

Consumer Reviews
Pretty much maintenance free. GPS/BACKUP CAMERA screen sucks. Very dark and difficult to see. Acura said it can’t be corrected. BIG safety issue. Car cabin is cramped. Difficult to enter and exit. Not acceptable for a RL which is supposed to be the large sedan.
Nice vintage sedan, with a decent back seat. 140K miles and not much maintenance needed. Comfy and responsive throttle. Had a funky electric display that comes and goes but nothing important.
I've thoroughly enjoyed my 2009 Acura RL and I'm at the 269,000 miles rode time in my car where certain major repairs have to be made. That was to be expected however. I still plan on keeping my car for at least another 300,000 miles after my repairs have been made! I only trust my car with Acura dealership service shops as my comfort level remains high after repairs have been made which has been 2nd to none with zero defects each and every time I've taken my car in!! Eventhough, this model is no longer made with deference to the TLX models, I still believe that there is still a place for this style of vehicle, at least in my mind! I've also been of a 93 Legend and 02 TL owner and firmly standing by Acura vehicles!!! Regards, Larry S. Miller
Sadly, Acura does not make the RL anymore. This car is more than reliable but strong and damn good quality, which we don't see anymore. Suppose you find one of these snatch it up because it is built like a tank.
gas mileage isnt good its like having a big 8 cylinder under the hood
