I took the car with a completely dead battery (wouldn't even unlock with the FOB dead) in after getting AAA to jump it. No problems driving it so my assumption is it is a battery, not the alternator. While they let the car idle to see if the battery starts charging, the A/C pressure valve blows, releasing freon or whatever is in it, and the service advisor says, "odd, it isn't even running hot". So finally they take it back and recharge the battery in the shop (more than 30 minutes since I pulled in). The advisor comes out and says the alternator is bad and not recharging. I ask why would the battery being completely dead indicate that. There should be some charge. I indicated it is probably the battery (which is under warranty). He insisted and I felt trapped since I couldn't figure out why it might not be the battery since it was completely dead. So $900+ and a bunch of hours later I have a new alternator installed. I drive home. A day later I try to start the car. Battery is dead (wouldn't even unlock with the FOB dead). I call AAA they jump it and I drive up to the dealer with no issues and they immediately test it. Within 30 minutes I have a new battery and they replace the A/C relay. I confronted them on why they didn't try the battery and A/C relay since now I have studied up from things on the internet that a completely dead battery is probably an electrical drain. The service rep kept saying that it was procedure to look at the alternator, but finally admitted that he didn't consider the completely dead battery and it could be an electric drain from something else. So I haven't had an issue since replacing the relay and battery. I got ripped off for $900 for a $20 part and a warranty battery replacement. I have been going to this place for 20 years and have never been treated so badly.
