Ford dealer got the job done ahead of time and everything works. The downside is the expense of the repair. Instead of having the water pump bolted to the front of the engine block and easily accessible as they used to be, it is somehow embedded inside the block and requires many more hours of work to repair. The first reason that comes to mind with that design is to increase their income at the dealers service dept.
