I had a problem with the Porsche Communications Management unit on my Porsche. The unit was working when I put the car away in the fall, while under warranty. It was not working when I brought it out one month ago. The warranty had expired, but Porsche covered the entire $3000 repair under warranty, anyway. I was very grateful for the intervention by Porsche of Clifton Park. The work was performed promptly and without a hitch. Thanks!

Linda, this is Jake DeGarmo, the service manager here at Porsche Clifton Park. As previously discussed over the phone, when you brought your vehicle into our dealership to have the oil service performed, the vehicle was actually due for its 2-year interim service maintenance. While it is your prerogative to abbreviate that visit to an oil service only, we cannot, as an authorized Porsche dealership, re-set the "Interim service due" notification unless we perform that service. This is standard practice in our industry by which we cannot take on the liability of stating something was done in our shop without actually performing that service. I do apologize if this practice does not sit well with you, but it is not something that we can move away from as it is our policy to only declare work performed which we have actually done. I do appreciate your business and understand where you are coming from in not wanting to have a warning on in your vehicle, but I also hope you can understand where we are coming from as a business with liability concerns that could stem from such actions if we declare work performed that wasn't. If you would like to discuss further, my door is always open."
