This was my second visit for a routine oil/filter change, WITH an appointment. And the second time I waited (at the dealership) for almost 2.5hrs for the work to be completed. In addition, this time it was an additional 20 minutes before my car was brought from wherever and given back to me. In the future I will have routine servicing done at a local automotive service station and be in and out within 60-90 minutes.

I was disappointed because I made an appointment to have the car serviced , first time I did, so that I didn't wait 4 or 5 hours for the repairs to finish. I still had to wait 4 and a half hours. The car had a standard tune up which I don't think it would take 4 hours. Other than the wait the service associate deserved a 5 star. He was very professional.

Richard Carver is excellent service manager. Rest of the department is dreadful and run poorly. Kudos to Marcella for check in. Your online service made me an appointment for a manager who was not in. Richard stepped in and handled my appt. properly. Suggest your get a new head of Service Dept.

Asked to troubleshoot low mpg...failed to find dragging brakes even though told it might be the problem. Told may need to replace 12v battery. Still charged for full service inspection. Given a Carfax report and performed other easy routine maintenance checks alrhough not requested (washer fluid, tire pressure, whiper blade inspection, etc, coolant level check....) Uugh

I had to return to the Mossy Toyota when I found that they had not put cabin filter properly which was actually not allowing me to close the passenger side dash cabin. Besides, there was no followup if my vehicle was ready or not. I had to call them again and again. I wasted my time and fuel there.

I keep coming back for the excellent customer service and auto repair at fair prices. Jeff Stumph kept me informed on the status of my repairs and options. I had full control of what work needed to be done and the team at Mossy executed! I drive all the way from Chula Vista and Mossy Toyota is worth it.

Excellent service all the way and professional employees. We had the Engine Malfunction Indicator go on the day before we were to leave San Diego. One of three valves in the water pump was sticking. This happened on a Sat. afternoon. We drove the car in and they had it repaired 30 min. before they were to close. It was a little costly but this is California.

My Alternator went out on the freeway Monday evening. I was towed into Mossy Toyota about 10 minutes before closing. I spoke to a nice person on the phone. Not one employee spoke to me when i got there. Literally they looked like they were running away like mice. I filled out after hours envelope and put it in after-hours slot, service was closed. Sales team and office people never asked how I was or if I needed help. I was camping at Campland on the Bay and had to pack my site up by noon to move Tuesday. Richard called me in the morning and said he would have to charge me $220 for a diagnostic test. I know this is procedure and I knew what my car needed. I was planning on replacing after I moved my trailer. Richard input my name wrong even though I wrote it correctly on forms. He also never looked at my cars history, im assuming. Im local. Im not a tourist. He called me back and said yes it was my Alternator and I had no other issues. (I knew this already) He then proceeded to qoute me $1895 to replace Alternator!! He also could not get TOYOTA PARTS until next day! What Toyota can not get Toyota parts? He could get me aftermarket parts for $1707 and they would be the next day. This was 9:55 AM. I said I would call back in a few minutes. I randomly called Pep Boys. They quoted me $780 for 3 hour job and had parts. I called my mechanic in Oceanside, he said he would order parts and be ready when I get car there. So I grabbed a bite to eat and was dropped off at Toyota by a friend. Not one employee asked how I was or if I needed help. I called AAA and their computers were down. Left my number for a call back. Found Richard in service. He told me to hold on and sit in lobby. AAA called me and confirmed pick up and drop off addresses. Tow truck driver called me to confirm addresses. Arrived for car before Richard even bothered to help me. Car was on Tow truck before Richard spoke with me. When I went to pay for diagnostic he said he was gonna charge me half. So I paid $110. I know diagnostic test is an easy plug in and run through a computer type job. I have a diagnostic tester myself. Ive done it plenty of times. My passenger seat was pushed completely up and my passenger window button no longer works from drivers side. This has never once been an issue so not clear on how this happened. The customer service and courtesy of Mossy Toyota in Pacific Beach is completely awful. The amount of employees walking around on their phones and ignoring customers is ridiculous. Its a small open building. While charging my phone and waiting for Richard to acknowledge me I watched a salesman completely harass a young Asian couple. He repeatedly was saying "Im helping you now you gotta help me" It was almost bullying. I saw employees eating at their desks. Employees blatantly flirting and touching each other. I did not leave with tow truck. I stayed behind to wait for a friend to pick me up. Customer service at this location is awful! At lunch my friend and I discussed the nearly $2000 qoute for an Alternator. Did they do this because Im a woman? Did they assume I was a tourist leaving soon and I would pay it? Im not sure but my mechanic had parts before my car arrived and was completed before my 6 PM extention at Campgrounds to move my trailer. Absolute shame on Mossy Toyota in Pacific Beach!!
