I had an idiot light come on and it appeared that it was an open thermostat. I stopped at Advance auto parts and had one of the guys I knew there do a diagnostic check and it confirmed that it was the thermometer. When I took my Blazer into Blacks I told the front end rep that I had the situation already diagnosed and it was the thermostat, He asked me if I wanted to diagnose it and I said only if you have to. So when I received the bill, I thought it was very high and they had charged me for $130 to diagnose the issue, this took about 3 minutes at Advance Auto Parts for free. So with the thermostat change out I also had an oil change and they flushed the radiator. I was charged an additional fee of $49.95 for additional supplies, I can't imagine what would cost $49.95 since they charged for oil disposal etc. First time using Blacks and I will neve go back again and I intend on letting everyone know of their tactics ripping off of their customers.

They were extremely professional dealing with the customers. I was able to watch this take place while waiting for my service to complete. Very impressed. They were careful to be factual about inspections and recommendations. I did not observe then taking advantage of anyone be "recommending" a repair that was not necessary. When it was necessary they supplied facts to support their recommendation and once showed a part that needed to be replaced.
