I took my truck in for a review on my brake pads. I was shocked to see a quote for $2,300 for all four pads, rotors, and calibers. I went to get a second opinion and was told I only needed 4 new pads. There were no signs of damage or leaks anywhere else.

Good morning, we recommended the brake pads and rotors based on the thickness of the components. Your brake pads were at the minimum and the rotors were severely warped. After looking at the minimum specifications for the rotors, we determined that there would not have been enough material there to remove the warpage and be safe. Some shops do not even measure, they will just resurface the rotors and say that they are fine. The calipers were mentioned due to the history of having an issue with these specifically where the piston will sieze up in the caliper housing which is caused by the piston and housing being made of different materials. They wouldn't have been replaced unless absolutely necessary. We always strive to be thorough with our inspections and will continue to do so in the future. Thank you for the feedback! The only complaint I have is that I had to ask for the discount on the oil change which was offered to me (and others) by text before the end of the year. It was good through 1/9/26 and I asked for it when I made the appointment, but then had to ask again to get it on the day of the service.

I traveled from Maryland to see my sister in Moore, S. Carolina and had low tire pressure gage come on during my drive. I stopped to put air in my tire and made it to my sister's house. Burt's Auto service was very nice in letting me bring my car over to be checked and fixed the next day. Everyone was also polite and thorough.

They got most of the work done...eventually. I've been taking my vehicles to Berts for 12 years. I'm not sure if it's just a coincidence, but since Bert sold the business, I've taken my car to be serviced twice and both times, it has taken them at least 3 days to get stuff done. Once it was to correct a brake pad that had been installed improperly. The second time was just standard maintenance. I don't know that I'll be going back.
