I visited Abeloff Nissan on August 3rd for an oil change and was initially satisfied with the service. They also conducted a vehicle inspection and informed me that I would need to replace my tires before winter. Last week, I noticed my sunroof had started leaking, so I called Abeloff Nissan to inquire about the cost of cleaning the sunroof drains. Over the phone, I was quoted $150, which I was pleased with, as it seemed more reasonable than attempting the repair myself.
However, today's visit to Abeloff Nissan was a major disappointment. When I arrived, I was suddenly told that my tires, which were flagged for replacement just two months ago, were now fine but needed an alignment instead. I haven't experienced any vibrations or issues with the car drifting, which are typical signs of misalignment. In my experience, alignment is usually performed when replacing tires, so this recommendation seemed unnecessary.
On top of that, the cost of the sunroof drain cleaning was significantly higher than what I was quoted over the phone. The price had jumped from $150 to $315.95. Despite not going forward with the repair, they still charged me $70 for a diagnostic, which simply confirmed what I already knew about the sunroof leak.
Fortunately, I found another service center that will perform the same work for $150, and they confirmed that the price will not change.
Also, a word of advice: don't panic if they give you a printout with a list of additional items that need fixing. It's always a good idea to get a second opinion rather than paying for unnecessary services they come up with. In my case, I felt that some of these recommendations were just ways to upsell.
The service consultant, Tiffanny Korodan, was unhelpful and dismissive, walking away without addressing my concerns. Places where customers are ignored deserve 1 star. I will never return to Abeloff Nissan and strongly recommend that others avoid this place.
