2011 Chevrolet HHR Review
Pros
- Comfortable ride.
- Flexible cabin.
- Distinctive cabin.
Cons
- Unimpressive handling.
- Low-budget cabin.
The 2011 Chevrolet HHR is a compact wagon that seats five people, with a two-seat Panel version also available that features a windowless rear cargo door and is intended for small-business owners. The HHR is for drivers seeking a comfortable wagon with a unique look.
Buyers can choose from two engines. The base engine is a 2.2-liter 4-cylinder producing 155 horsepower and 150 pound-feet of torque. For extra potency, you can upgrade to a 2.4-liter inline-4 that generates 172 horsepower and has a torque rating of 167 pound-feet. A 5-speed manual transmission is standard, with a 4-speed automatic also available.
HHR buyers can expect a smooth, comfortable ride; this wagon’s suspension is softly sprung to keep uneven road surfaces from disturbing the cabin. In addition, the HHR’s interior is flexible; not only does the backseat fold, but you can also fold down the front passenger seat to create a flat load floor for long cargo. The two-seat Panel version is excellent for drivers seeking a small wagon for commercial applications.
Lastly, the HHR stands out with its distinctive exterior design: Its retro-flavored look sets it apart on modern roads.
There are also a couple of shortcomings to consider. First, the HHR’s handling is bland and unimpressive; other vehicles in its class have more engaging driving dynamics. Also, this wagon’s cabin looks low budget, with unimpressive materials.
