2004 Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD
2004 Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD Review
The 2004 Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD is a highly customizable full-size pickup truck. It features a choice of two cargo beds, three cabin sizes and three drivetrains. The 2500HD will appeal to truck shoppers who need a truly hard-working and rugged vehicle with outstanding towing and hauling capabilities: With a conventional hitch, the 2500HD can tow up to 12,000 pounds.
The Silverado 2500 can seat from three to six people, depending on cabin size. The roomy four-door Crew Cab is the one to get for if you routinely transport lots of people, not just cargo and trailers.
The 2500’s standard engine is a 6.0-liter V8 that delivers 300 horsepower and 360 pound-feet of torque, or you can upgrade to a 6.6-liter turbocharged diesel V8 that produces 300 horsepower and 520 pound-feet of torque, or a gas-powered 8.1-liter V8 that provides 330 horsepower and 450 pound-feet of torque. Rear-wheel drive (RWD) is standard and 4-wheel drive (4WD) is optional.
While the Silverado 2500 certainly succeeds at its mission as a heavy-duty worker, keep in mind this is a large vehicle that can feel ungainly while cornering or navigating crowded parking lots. It also has a firmer ride than many less-heavy-duty trucks offer.

2004 Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD vs. the Competition

Ram 2500: Potent engines, smooth suspension, impressive towing and hauling capacity.
GMC Sierra 2500HD: Upscale interior, equally adept at towing and hauling, powerful drivetrains.
