The car was/is 4 cylinder and I was looking for a 6 cylinder xt5. The salesman was very knowledgeable about the vehicle and very friendly. The mileage was more than I wanted, but I liked the vehicle. I located the one that I am very happy with.

As soon as I got home from purchasing the car, the check engine light came on for a misfire on cylinder 5, lean fuel mixture. Right rear brake light failed. The left headlight went out. Brake replacement caution came on to replace brake pads. Thankfully they forced their warranty on me or else I'd be screwed trying to replace an engine/components.

I test drove the vehicle and brought it to a repair shop that I own to get it checked out. They found a few things wrong with it. Oil leaks, front end work, axle leaking and that it was low on coolant. On my way back to Mattingly it ran VERY hot. The temp gauge pegged out at 260 degrees. Engine hot light came on dash and also said A/C was shutdown due to engine overheating. One of Mattinglys salesmen was with me the entire time. When we got back there the manager, Doug , tried to downplay everything he was told that was wrong. He knew that I was a repair shop owner so I felt like he was insulting me and my knowledge of vehicles because I am a woman. I walked out immediately. Fast forward a few days and Doug leaves a message on my voicemail telling me that the car ran hot because it was a little low on coolant and if I was still interested to call him. Im not sure the car doesnt have engine damage since we had to drive it a quite a few miles running so hot that alarms were going off in the car The car should have been checked out extensively BEFORE advertising it for sale. Not a happy customer. No confidence in Mattingly, Doug or their vehicles...
