When something is not working properly or not working at all, the customer should be told instead of them just hoping you don't notice.

The price shown to the public is not the price. Tack on a grand cause they need to do stuff to it first.

The experience was ok. But the truck has issue . Front door driver side does not open , guy said he will get it checked out. Still waiting for the call. They are ducking phone calls and not answering my issues. Maybe a fraudulent dealership that does not check the cars before selling

They had a vehicle I was interested in, unfortunately it sold and my interest was very specific to that model. Very responsive.

They wouldn't give me an out the door price, they want you to waste your time, by driving there, and add extra fees to buy the car, don't know, if I need an interpreter, they sound like foreign people.

If I could give 0 stars I would. This place seems to be run by a bunch of kids. I was lied to and sold a car that was a piece of junk. I blame myself for not being more vigilant.
I purchased a 2015 Nissan Pathfinder from the Car House in Butler, NJ on 17 Dec. I first saw the add online around the 3nd of December. They were advertising the vehicle online for $9,995. It was reported to have no accidents and 2 previous owners. They stated the car had no issues, no check engine lights and specifically no transmission issues. When we started negotiating for the cost of the car, they asked for $12,295. I balked at that asking price. I reminded them of the online selling price of $9,995. They stated the selling price of $12,295 to include the taxes, tags, dealer fees, etc.... This already sounded fishy. I would only offer them $6,000 plus my trade in, a 2014 Hyundai Sonata, which ended up netting me $4,000 for the Hyundai. They finally agreed to $9795 (vehicle prep fee of $295) less $4000 for the trade + $289 document fees totaling $10,084, which is more than the online asking price. Before I accepted the deal, they guaranteed the car was in good shape with no mechanical or electrical issues at all. They offered a 3-month warranty to prove the car had no issues, stating they normally only offer a single month warranty. I paid $6000 in full as a show of good faith to them. I left to return home to Bethlehem around 2:00 pm after completing the paperwork.
That very same night, the vehicle began to shake violently, which it did not do at the dealership. The very next day, the 18th, the check engine light came on. I took the car to a local AutoZone to review the check engine light. It determined it was the transmission that was causing the issue. Plus, I spoke with a trusted mechanic and the local Nissan dealer. I was told by the Nissan Repair service dealer, who is an expert with these cars and these codes, that the code indicated the car would require a new transmission. Also, through the brief examination of the car, the Pathfinder would also require new brakes and an oil change and there was a loud sound coming from under the car and that it was not safe to drive at all. They recommended that I do not drive the car anymore due to the potential of serious issue and injury.
I immediately contacted The Car House on Monday, 20 Dec, with this info and spoke with Adam in the Main Office. I also texted the car salesman who sold me the car, Ricardo (Rick). Adam stated he will forward my message to the manager, who never contacted me. Rick replied that he was busy. Next day, 21 Dec, I reached out again and called Adam and texted Rick. Rick said he would call me later that day, but he did not. 22, 23 & 24 Dec I texted him again asking for a reply and help and still no answer from Rick. I was forced to drive to the Car House in Butler, which by the way, is over 60 miles and 90 minutes from my home. So, it is not a convenient trip for me. I was not getting answers from management as well as Rick who sold me the car. I arrived at the Car House on Friday 24 Dec around 9:30 AM. I was greeted by a salesman named Alex (who is from Yemen and he is also related to the owner, according to him). By the way, the employees there seem to reference their countries of origin upon introduction. That is why I use it in my description. He initially told me that the manager, Omar, would be coming around 11:00.
So I said I would wait. So around noon time, Omar still did not show up. But there were other employees that were there, very young seemed like maybe early 20s possibly even late teens. Then they said Omar cant come because hes running errands and there would be no manager available at all. They said it would be better just to come back on Monday, 3 days later. I asked for them to contact the owner and they would not contact the owner. The young guy from Palestine, said we dont do that, we never call the owner. I impressed upon him that the Pathfinder is not safe to drive and has numerous problems. Problems that they did not divulge before I purchased it the previous week. But the problems showed up that very night and only got worse the next evening. I requested my money back and my trade-in and they can have their defective pathfinder back. The young man declined and said he wont do that and again he would not connect me with the owner either. He offered to fix the vehicle if I left it. I let him know that it needed a new transmission, an oil change, the rear brakes replaced as well as other problems that needed addressing. These major problems were noted without even having a full emission and inspection completed. So, I agreed to leave the vehicle there for repair with the promise that they would fix it correctly and would contact me with updates. I asked him if I needed to sign any paperwork since I was leaving the car there. He said I did not need to because the fact is the car is there now and it will be fixed and he will call me with updates. I also asked him to sign a paper saying that they had the car there, for my records, but he declined to sign anything himself. He said if I wanted it fixed to just leave the car and that was all he would do. This was about 12 noon.
Now I had to find a way back home to Bethlehem. With today being Christmas Eve, no one was available to come get me. So, I had to call an Uber to take me home. Uber arrived around 12:30 and returned me home. The Cost of Uber was $109. It felt like such a waste because I just spent $10,000 on a new vehicle for me and it was not safe enough to drive around. Spending an extra $109 for a taxi felt so unnecessary, but I had to.
Monday, 27 December I called the car house to check in and get a status update. I spoke with Adam, the receptionist. He said he would forward my message to the manager in charge. I also texted a message to Rick to update me. He replied back saying he has been sick. In fact, that is the last time I heard from Rick in any capacity. I replied back offering my condolences to him being sick but if he could update me.
The next day, Tuesday 28 December, I called again. Same process, I left a message with Adam who stated he forwarded it to the manager. Again, I also texted Rick asking for any updates. As you may have guessed, I still have not received a reply from the manager or from Rick or from anyone for that fact.
Wednesday, Thursday and Friday the 29th 30th and 31st, I called and spoke with Adam the receptionist and to his surprise he had not heard anything either. I must say, Adam actually sounds like somebody who cares to help, at least thats the perception I have of him. He stated he was surprised that nobodys reached back out to me and he promised that he has been forwarding messages to the proper people in charge. Otherwise he had no updates himself because he was not involved in that process. So, Adam really is the only one who tried to be helpful, otherwise I still have not heard back from anybody at the car house.
Monday 03 January I called the car house at least 10 total times. Maybe even more than that. This time however, the phone never rang. It went straight to a pre-recorded voice message. This gave me the sense that my number was blocked or they recognized my number and were told no longer to accept it. I am only speculating about that. I called from 12 noon all the way until around 3 PM, and not one of the calls went through. Again, I texted Rick and still received no response from Rick or from anyone at the Car House.
Tuesday 04 January, I called again at 10:30 AM. This time someone else answered the phone, not Adam. I asked what is the status of my vehicle. He took my name and said he would contact the repair shop and would call me back in 15 minutes with an update. I was not contacted after that phone call. 12 noon, I called back since no one contacted me. This time, the phone just rang and rang and did not go to a voice message. No one answered this phone call. I called back at 1:00 pm and Alex answered this time. He transferred me to Rick and he told me that they cannot work on the car for at least another 2 weeks because of the warranty. He said they have to wait a month before they can use the warranty to fix the vehicle, which is an out-right lie. I contacted the warranty company about 2 weeks ago and they stated the warranty can be used from the very first day. The people at the car house do not know what they are doing, they are lying and they are lazy.
So I texted Rick at 5:11 pm writing that I guess you have no updates about the car. He called me back shortly after that. All of a sudden, he said the repair shop has the part to be fixed. I asked what part, he replied the part that needs fixing. Again, I asked what part is that and he said he didnt know. He is responsible for conveying to me the status of the vehicle and what is being done with it. He said I am no mechanic so I dont know what is wrong. He said he will have the mechanic call me. As you may have guessed, I did not receive any phone calls from anyone, from either the Car House or from the mechanic or from Rick after this call. I dont believe they are fixing the car or received the part that they claim they got. They continue to lie to me and withhold the truth from me in regards to what is actually happening with the car. So then I called again the next day, 05 Jan and no answer. I have a very uncomfortable feeling that either the car is gone and no longer there or just sitting there for the past 11 days with no one doing anything with it or to it. They know that I live 90 minutes away and probably are taking advantage of the fact that it is not convenient for me to come by and check on the car. Especially because I no longer have a car in my possession since I returned it to them
So essentially, it seems they have stolen my car or are holding it hostage. Plus they have $10,000 on top of that from the money I gave them with my trade-in. I dont know how I couldve been so foolish to be duped by these people.
I spent nearly 10 years in the US Air Force. I was taught to always be vigilant to know my surroundings and to be aware of everything going on around me. Unfortunately, none of that helped me in this situation, which is completely my fault for not being better informed and better prepared. I looked up their business name online with the Better Business Bureau and with yelp and read numerous complaints about them. I had read dozens of terrible reviews about the car house. I shouldve read these before I ever purchased a car. I am ashamed of myself for not being smarter and safer with my money.
10 January 2022, Monday- I called the Car House and a man named Orlando answered. He was polite and attentive to my frustration. I explained the situation to him, that not a single person has contacted me in regards to the status of the vehicle. So he reached out to the repair dept. 10 minutes later, he got back on the phone and informed me that the repair dept has not looked at the car or diagnosed the car at all. In fact, they are waiting for the Warranty dept to send an adjuster to the repair facility to make an official diagnose. This is a far cry from what they had initially told me a week ago. I let him know that when I spoke with the Warranty company, CARS Protection Plus at they had let me know the process is that I can leave the car at any repair facility and the mechanic there will assess the vehicle. Before any repairs are started, they will forward the estimate to the warranty company. The warranty company will make a determination and will approve the repairs. The warranty company does not send out an adjuster for this, they base it off whatever the mechanic has provided. Obviously, the dealer has no idea what is going on. They have not been honest with me and have lied about repairs, or lake there-of. I told Mr Orlando this and he stated he is not part of the process, but will find out what he can and will return a call to me when he finds out more information. He asked for my number and hung up.
I immediately called the Cars Protection Plus (CARS PP) and shared this info with them. CARS PP confirmed what I shared with the car house earlier.
