2014 JEEP CHEROKEE
I was looking to upgrade a car, and I found this car is the perfect. I use it for a daily family ride and short distance travels. I love the steering wheel and the how smooth driving. Also fuel efficient is really good. If you are looking for a car within a specific budget its perfect and worth test driving. It gives a genuine feeling with a low price.
2014 JEEP CHEROKEE
I have driven this Jeep Cherokee Limited for 3 weeks. I purchased it to tow behind a motor home and to drive to work in the Minnesota winters. I have not had a chance to test it in either of these situations yet. This Jeep is a reasonably good car. The interior is well laid out. The entertainment center, electronic dashboard and navigation systems are easy to use. The front seats and driving position are comfortable. It gets good gas mileage around town, roughly 25-27 mpg. I love the tow package.
On the down side, the cargo space is somewhat limited. The bag securing rack, tie down rings and the plastic molding in the cargo area seems to be wastes of space.
I purchase this car knowing there are continuing concerns about the 9 speed transmission. It does shift a little different than most cars. When accelerating from a stop, it sometimes is slow to accelerate and other times it launches like a rabbit. It functions normally when at highway speeds, slowing down or speeding up with the traffic. This is an issue I am willing to live with.
There are definitely some larger than normal blind spots. The front windshield post block a lot of view. Also, the backup camera is a must. An audio backup sensor would also be nice.
Shortly after purchasing the car, I noticed the brakes were chattering. I brought it back to the dealer where I purchased it and they replaced the front rotors and pads. I do not know what caused the failure of these parts after only 30,000 miles.
Overall, I believe this vehicle will meet my needs. I like the way it drives in traffic, the various electronic amenities and it's potential winter handling.
