The 2018 Camry Hybrid is a midsize sedan that seats five passengers, and it's sold in LE, SE and XLE trims. Front-wheel drive is standard, and a continuously variable transmission governs the proceedings.

For 2018, the all-new Camry Hybrid has a longer wheelbase, a new interior and four drive modes. New for 2018 is a Sport mode that boosts performance and simulates gear shifts via the car's paddle shifters.

Exterior

Exterior

The 2018 Camry Hybrid features sleek design with a front fascia marked by a narrow, upswept upper grille and a large lower grille intake. Thin wraparound headlights and a curvaceous aluminum hood add polish. An elevated beltline and deep sculpting accents draw attention to the profile. From the rear, a raised deck and narrow wraparound tail lamps are visible.

Base models come with automatic headlights, a black front grille and 16-inch wheels. The list of available features includes full LED headlights and taillights, a color-keyed rear spoiler, a power sunroof, a bright metallic front grille, heated side mirrors with integrated turn signals and 18-inch wheels.

Interior

Interior

The environment within the Camry Hybrid's cabin is roomy and attractive. The center console is this sedan’s focal point, and it's canted slightly toward the driver. A pronounced character line bisects the console, and it lends a stylish and upscale touch. All grades have a 60/40-split fold-down rear seat, and this feature facilitates access to a trunk that provides 15.1 cubic feet of capacity.

Standard equipment includes cloth upholstery, a power-adjustable driver's seat, dual-zone climate control, heated front seats, wood trim, soft-touch upper door trim and power windows and door locks. The list of available amenities includes simulated or real leather upholstery, a leather-wrapped steering wheel and an auto-dimming rearview mirror.

Performance

Performance

With the 2018 Toyota Camry Hybrid, drivers enjoy performance that's quiet and smooth. All models feature a 2.5-liter four-cylinder gas engine that is paired with an electric motor. Power transmits to the front wheels by way of a continuously variable transmission (CVT). The gas engine makes 176 horsepower and 163 pound-feet of torque on its own, and there's 208 total system horsepower on tap when this is combined with the electric motor.

The 2018 Camry Hybrid LE makes an EPA-estimated 51/53 mpg city/highway, while SE and XLE models make 44/47 mpg.
