2018 Subaru Crosstrek Review

It can be challenging for a vehicle to distinguish itself in the crowded crossover segment, but the 2018 Subaru Crosstrek pulls this off thanks to its high ground clearance, standard all-wheel drive and rugged styling. The Crosstrek easily establishes itself as a top choice for shoppers looking for a crossover with the grit to tackle mountain trails, rain or snow.

The 2018 Subaru Crosstrek is a compact crossover that seats five passengers, and it's sold in 2.0i, 2.0i Premium and 2.0i Limited trims. Buyers can choose between a six-speed manual and a continuously variable transmission (CVT).

The Crosstrek has been completely redesigned for 2018. The current model features a more spacious cabin than its predecessor, and it offers an expanded array of driver-assistance technologies.

The Crosstrek's sheet metal gives it a look that communicates sportiness and resilience. Slim headlights flank the front fascia's bold grill, and the crossover's profile reveals striking wheels and a low, curving roofline. In back, you'll find chunky taillights and a substantial rear bumper.

The list of standard features for this Subaru includes 17-inch alloy wheels, rear privacy glass, power-adjustable side mirrors, a rear roof spoiler, black roof rails and black side cladding. You can upgrade your Crosstrek with fog lights, a power sunroof, LED headlights and 18-inch wheels.

Within its cabin, the 2018 Subaru Crosstrek provides an environment that delivers impressive spaciousness and excellent visibility. Most adults will find that both rows of seating provide an agreeable fit, and the seats offer good support on long drives. With the rear seats in place, the Crosstrek provides 20.8 cubic feet of cargo capacity, and this figure swells to 55.3 cubic feet with the rear seats lowered.

Base models are equipped with air conditioning, cloth upholstery, a 60/40-split folding rear seat, a height-adjustable driver's seat, power door locks and windows and a tilt-and-telescoping steering column. The range of available interior upgrades includes heated front seats, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, a power-adjustable driver's seat, automatic climate control, leather upholstery and a rear-seat armrest with dual cup holders.
