CARLSBAD, Calif. (Nov. 3, 2011) - Scott Systems, a leading publisher of software for the automotive repair industry for 25 years, has upgraded its renowned Maxx Traxx software by adding Carfax QuickVIN. Users can now retrieve the year/make/model and vehicle identification number (VIN) of their customers' cars by entering only the license plate information. The free tool is integrated with Maxx Traxx 6.0, which released on November 2.

"During our pre-launch testing, we found that the addition of Carfax QuickVIN was one of the most positively recieved upgrades in Maxx Traxx 6.0," said Walter Chambosse, national sales manager for Scott Systems. "Using the license plate information to capture the correct VIN signifigantly reduced the number of incorrectly ordered parts and we fully expect that trend to continue. Having written service for 25 years, this is a huge improvement."

Maxx Traxx subscribers using Carfax QuickVIN also have their service records turned into free advertising on Carfax Vehicle History Reports. Shop name and contact information appears alongside each service record on the Carfax Report, reaching millions of potential customers that use Carfax.
