CENTREVILLE, Va. (Oct. 5, 2012) – Carfax today announced that the popular Carfax QuickVIN tool is mapped to current Aftermarket Catalog Enhanced Standards (ACES) codes. Shop owners and technicians can access this information through any shop management system that has integrated Carfax QuickVIN. Using only the license plate, Carfax QuickVIN instantly captures the vehicle identification number, vehicle year/make/model and ACES codes to help shops operate more efficiently, saving both time and money.

“By incorporating ACES in Carfax QuickVIN, vehicle information can be seamlessly linked with other data solutions in the automotive service environment,” said Scott Luckett, chief information officer for the Automotive Aftermarket Industry Association. “AAIA applauds the choice Carfax made to engineer their tool around generally accepted industry standards.”

Carfax QuickVIN helps eliminate the risk of costly data entry errors and ensure correctly-fitting parts are ordered. The free tool is available to Carfax Service Network members and is built-in to most shop management systems.

Carfax QuickVIN also includes the original AAIA make/model table but will cease updating those on Dec. 31, 2012.
