With its swooping lines and chiseled surfaces, the 2017 Nissan Murano brings striking design to the crossover SUV segment. The Nissan Murano also impresses with its premium feature content and agreeable handling.

The 2017 Nissan Murano is a midsize crossover SUV that seats five passengers, and it’s sold in S, SV, SL and Platinum trims. A V6 engine and front-wheel drive are standard, and all-wheel drive is offered as an option.

For 2017, the Murano adds Apple CarPlay smartphone integration as an option and makes its driver drowsiness monitor available across a wider number of trims. The Murano also offers new and revised upgrade packages that are highlighted by a Midnight Edition package for the Platinum trim.

One of the most dramatically designed mainstream SUVs in any segment, the 2017 Murano is known for it its sculpted sheet metal, “floating” roof and signature front lighting with standard LED daytime running lights. Standard LED taillights complement the modern look of the Murano, as do its standard halogen headlights, 18-inch wheels, power-adjustable side mirrors with integrated LED turn signals and chrome door handles. Key among the Murano’s available features are 20-inch wheels, LED headlights, fog lights, heated exterior mirrors, roof rails and crossbars, a dual panoramic moonroof and a power-operated rear liftgate.

The Midnight Edition package brings together blackout-style design cues such as black 20-inch aluminum-alloy wheels.

The Murano’s upscale cabin features a sophisticated, wraparound dashboard, and the second row is home to a center armrest and 60/40-split folding seats. The Murano has 32.1 cubic feet of cargo space behind its second row and 67 cubic feet with the rear row completely folded.

Standard features include dual-zone climate control, power windows and door locks, a tilt-and-telescoping steering column, cloth upholstery and reclining rear seatbacks. The list of upgrades includes heated and cooled front seats, heated rear outboard seats, a heated steering wheel, power-adjustable front seats and leather upholstery.

The 2017 Nissan Murano feels refined and capable on the road. All models come with front-wheel drive, a continuously variable transmission (CVT) and a 3.5-liter V6 engine that produces 260 horsepower and 240 pound-feet of torque. All-wheel drive is available, and the Murano has a towing capacity of up to 1,500 pounds.

The Murano has an EPA rating of 21/28 mpg city/highway for both front-wheel-drive and all-wheel-drive models.

The 2017 Nissan Murano offers an impressive array of technology amenities.
