Mini Recall Information
In December 215, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTS) fined BMW $40-million fine for failing to reach minimum side impact safety standards for the 2014 adn 2015 Mini Cooper Hatchback. In a press release, NHTS explained that BMW took too long to issue a recall on the cars. BMW Group responded that it "is committed to further improving its recall processes to better serve its customers," and that the company, "respects the role of NHTSA and looks forward to working with them to develop solutions for the future."
BMW America announced that 7,810 model year 2016-2017 MINI Clubman vehicles that were manufactured from August 19, 2015, through July 14, 2016 are recalled for passenger side curtain airbags that may not deploy properly in the event of a crash.
