Lexus NX Overview
The Lexus NX is marked by chiseled features and sharp angles, and is punctuated by a spindle grille. Beyond the aggressive grille is a long hood, a sweeping roof line and a sporty rear quarter. The Lexus NX comes with LED daytime running lights, alloy wheels and a roof-mounted spoiler. An available F Sport trim brings in special wheels, black exterior mirrors and badging.
Under the hood is a twin-scroll turbocharged four-cylinder engine making 235 horsepower. A six-speed automatic transmission is standard. This model is rated as high as an EPA-estimated 22/28 mpg city/highway and takes premium grade gasoline. A hybrid variant, known as the Lexus NX 300h, is also available.
All Lexus NX models come with power-adjustable front seats, a 60/40 split-folding rear seat, a fold-and-stow tonneau cover and numerous storage compartments. Each model is outfitted with leather-like seating materials, power accessories, dual-zone climate control, two 12-volt outlets, foot lights, map and cargo area lights, an illuminated glove box, a tilt and telescopic steering column, an 8-speaker audio system and Bluetooth connectivity.
Available options include a moonroof, reverse tilting side mirrors, a navigation package with Lexus Enform services, a power liftgate, a power-folding rear seat and premium LED headlamps. Also available are leather-trimmed seats, a tow package and a heated steering wheel.
The rear storage compartment is small, measuring 17.7 cubic feet. With the rear seat folded down that space more than triples to 54.6 cubic feet.
The Lexus NX has been recognized by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) with its highest safety award, earning a Top Safety Pick+ designation for crashworthiness. The IIHS also noted the available dynamic radar cruise control system with brake assist, which helps mitigate pending accidents. This model comes with a driver’s knee air bag, a backup camera with grid lines and a security system.
