2014 to Present: Land Rover Range Rover Sport
The current Range Rover Sport was introduced for the 2014 model year and comes standard with features like a power liftgate, push-button start with proximity key, power-adjustable front seats, leather upholstery, dual-zone automatic climate control, Bluetooth, a USB port and a voice-activated navigation system.
Standard driver assistance features include a rearview camera and front and rear parking sensors, while options include adaptive cruise control, blind spot monitoring and a camera system that provides a 360-degree view around the vehicle.
The Range Rover Sport seats five, or seven with an optional third-row seat. There’s 27.7 cubic feet of cargo space behind the second row, which expands to 62.2 cubic feet with the second row folded.
All Range Rover Sport models are four-wheel drive and come with an eight-speed automatic transmission. The base engine in the current model is a supercharged 3.0-liter V6 that produces 340 horsepower. A supercharged V8 engine that produces 510 horsepower (550 horsepower in SVR models) is available on higher trims. Fuel economy ranges from 17/22 mpg city/highway with the supercharged V6, to 14/19 mpg with the supercharged V8.
2006 to 2013: Land Rover Range Rover Sport
The Land Rover Range Rover Sport was introduced as a 2006 model that seats five and offers 71 cubic feet of maximum cargo space. The 2006 Range Rover Sport comes standard with leather upholstery, dual-zone automatic climate control and a Harman Kardon audio system. Features like front and rear parking sensors, Bluetooth and navigation were added to the list of standard equipment in subsequent model years.
A 4.4-liter V8 engine that makes 300 horsepower is standard in the 2006 Range Rover Sport, while an available supercharged 4.2-liter V8 produces 390 horsepower. A six-speed automatic transmission and four-wheel drive are standard.
For 2010, the Range Rover Sport received refreshed interior and exterior styling, an updated six-speed automatic transmission and new engine choices, which include a standard 5.0-liter V8 that produces 375 horsepower and a supercharged 5.0-liter V8 that produces 510 horsepower.
