The Genesis G80 takes Hyundai's levelheaded approach to value and applies it to the luxury car segment. This sedan offers the impeccable refinement and extravagant feature content you'd expect from a premium sedan, and it delivers all this at a very reasonable price.
Genesis G80 Overview
Launched for 2017, the G80 is one of the first models from Hyundai's newly launched Genesis brand. It's an updated version of the outgoing Hyundai Genesis, and relative to its predecessor, it includes additional standard features.
The Genesis G80 impresses with sheet metal that features fluid, graceful contours. A hexagonal grille covers much of the front fascia, while the sedan's profile is sleek and sculpted.
The G80's cabin provides a spacious environment for all passengers, and all components are assembled with impeccable care and precision. The list of standard features includes leather upholstery, a power-adjustable driver's seat and an auto-dimming rearview mirror.
There are plenty of standard tech features, too, including amenities such as a navigation system, Bluetooth connectivity, a seven-speaker sound system with MP3 compatibility, USB ports, adaptive cruise control, a rearview camera, lane-keep assist, blind-spot detection and Apple CarPlay and Android Auto smartphone mirroring. Upgrades include front and rear parking sensors and premium sound systems.
When driving the Genesis G80, you'll be impressed with its serene cabin, smooth handling and crisp acceleration. Base models are motivated by a 3.8-liter V6 engine with 311 horsepower, while a 420-horsepower V8 engine option is offered. Rear-wheel drive is standard, and all-wheel drive is available with the V6. Both engines are governed by an eight-speed automatic transmission.
The Genesis G80 competes with models such as the Cadillac CTS, BMW 5 Series, Mercedes-Benz E-Class, Lexus GS and Audi A6. Relative to these models, the G80's pricing is affordable.
