2016 Takata Airbag Recalls
May 27, 2016 – Fiat Chrysler Automobiles recalled around 4.3 million vehicles, including certain Dodge models, in order to replace defective Takata air bag inflators. Due to an absence of a drying agent in the inflator canisters, inflator components can degrade over time and potentially result in a dangerous rupture of the metal casing when the airbags deploy.

June 30, 2016 – Fiat Chrysler Automobiles recalled over 26,000 vehicles in the U.S., including certain 2015-2016 model year Dodge vehicles, due to issues with their transmission pumps.

May 6, 2016 – Fiat Chrysler Automobiles recalled about 10,900 U.S. Dodge Journey vehicles due to potential issues involving the durability of fluid lines.
- 2009-2016 Dodge Journey
April 22, 2016 – Fiat Chrysler Automobiles recalled over 810,000 U.S. vehicles, including certain Dodge Chargers, to analyze user warnings and the transmission shift setup in order to minimize potential driver error associated with gear shifting.

April 5, 2016 – Fiat Chrysler Automobiles recalled about 14,700 SUVs, including certain Dodge Durangos in the U.S., due to potential brake issues. These vehicles may need to have brake calipers replaced in order to work effectively in extreme braking situations.

February 4, 2016 – Fiat Chrysler Automobiles conducted a safety recall of about 112,000 crossover and minivan vehicles in the U.S., including two Dodge model types, due to potential issues with occupant restraint controllers, which can affect airbag function.

2015 Dodge Recall News Update
Dodge has open recalls on approximately 371,309 cars (including Chrysler models) as part of the Takata Airbag recall.
As of May 2015, this already massive recall was expanded with the news that about 34 million cars on American roads are equipped with defective airbags manufactured by Takata.
Dodge Models affected by this recall include the Ram 1500 (2003-2008), Ram 2500 (2005-2008), Ram 3500 (2006-2008), Ram 4500 (2006-2008), Ram 5500 (2008), Durango (2005-2008), and Dakota (2005-2008).
