2016 Takata Airbag Recalls:

May 27, 2016 – Fiat Chrysler Automobiles recalled around 4.3 million vehicles, including certain Chrysler models, in order to replace defective Takata air bag inflators. Due to an absence of a drying agent in the inflator canisters, inflator components can degrade over time and potentially result in a dangerous rupture of the metal casing when the airbags deploy.

Models affected:

  • 2007-2009 Chrysler Aspen
  • 2005-2012 Chrysler 300

2016 Recall News

June 30, 2016 – Fiat Chrysler Automobiles recalled over 26,000 vehicles in the U.S., including certain 2015-2016 Chrysler minivans, due to issues with their transmission pumps.

Models affected:

  • 2015-2016 Chrysler Town & Country

May 27, 2016 – Fiat Chrysler Automobiles recalled about 99 vehicles, including certain Chrysler minivans, in the U.S. due to potential seat fastener issues.

Models affected:

  • 2016 Chrysler Town & Country

April 22, 2016 – Fiat Chrysler Automobiles recalled over 810,000 U.S. vehicles, including certain Chrysler sedans, to analyze user warnings and the transmission shift setup in order to minimize potential driver error associated with gear shifting.

Models affected:

  • 2012-2014 Chrysler 300

February 4, 2016 – Fiat Chrysler Automobiles conducted a safety recall of about 112,000 crossover and minivan vehicles in the U.S., including a number of Chrysler minivans, due to potential issues with occupant restraint controllers, which can affect airbag function.

Models affected:

  • 2008-2009 Chrysler Town & Country

Chrysler Recalls 2015: List of Major News

Chrysler has open recalls on approximately 371,309 cars (including Dodge models) as part of the Takata Airbag recall.

This recall was expanded as of May 2015 with the announcement that approximately 34 million cars on US roads are equipped with defective airbags manufactured by Takata.
Models affected by this recall include the 300 (2005-2008), and Aspen (2007-2008).
