Striking and assertive, the 2017 Cadillac CTS makes a bold visual statement. The Cadillac CTS also has crisp acceleration and a stylish cabin to its credit.

The 2017 Cadillac CTS is a midsize sedan with seating for five. Three engines are offered, and both rear-wheel drive and all-wheel drive are available. The CTS is sold in base, Luxury, Premium Luxury, V-Sport and V-Sport Premium Luxury trims.

For 2017, the Cadillac adds minor upgrades to its sheet metal and brings in an optional rear camera mirror that offers a wider field of vision than a standard rearview mirror. A Teen Driver system joins the list of standard equipment, and it includes features that allow parents to monitor the driving habits of their teens. A new Carbon Black package has been added, and Bronze Dune Metallic and Silver Moonlight Metallic arrive as new exterior color options.

The 2017 Cadillac CTS has a blocky, Darth Vader-style countenance. A wide five-cornered grille rules the front fascia, and it’s flanked by angular projector-type halogen headlights. Heated power-adjustable side mirrors enhance visibility, and base models ride on 17-inch wheels with run-flat tires.

Standard features include LED daytime running lamps and a high-mounted LED rear brake light. The list of upgrades includes HID headlamps, auto-dimming side mirrors, a black chrome grille, illuminated exterior door handles, a power sunroof, a rear spoiler and various 18- and 19-inch wheel styles.

The cabin of the 2017 Cadillac CTS impresses with elegant design and top-grade materials. Though the CTS is less spacious than certain rivals, both rows offer decent amounts of room. The trunk provides 13.7 cubic feet of capacity.

Base models are equipped with LED interior lighting, an auto-dimming rearview mirror, dual-zone automatic climate control, power-adjustable front seats with memory settings, a leather-wrapped steering wheel and power windows and door locks. You can upgrade your CTS with leather upholstery, heated and ventilated front seats, a split-folding rear seat, a power-adjustable tilt-and-telescoping steering column, a heated steering wheel and tri-zone automatic climate control.

The 2017 Cadillac CTS provides eager acceleration and responsive handling. Rear-wheel drive and an eight-speed automatic transmission are standard, and all-wheel drive is available.

Base models are motivated by a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine that gets 268 horsepower and 295 pound-feet of torque. This engine has an EPA [2] rating of up to 22/30 mpg city/highway. A 3.6-liter V6 provides 335 horsepower and 285 pound-feet of torque, and it achieves mileage of up to 20/30 mpg. The final engine choice is a turbocharged 3.6-liter V6 good for 420 horsepower and 430 pound-feet of torque, and this powerplant has an EPA rating of up to 16/24 mpg.

The 2017 Cadillac CTS comes with a pretty complete assortment of technology features. Base models are equipped with Bluetooth phone and audio streaming, an 8-inch touch screen, voice recognition, Apple CarPlay/Android Auto smartphone compatibility, three USB ports, an auxiliary input jack, keyless entry and ignition, a Wi-Fi hotspot with 4G LTE connectivity, a rearview camera, satellite radio, a Teen Driver feature, wireless device charging and an 11-speaker Bose sound system.

The list of available features includes a 13-speaker Bose sound system, navigation with 3D graphics, adaptive cruise control, automatic braking, forward collision alert, lane keep assist, lane departure warning, rear cross-traffic alert, blind-spot warning and a rear camera mirror.
