Best Electric Luxury Cars in 2025

The cutting edge in luxury is now the electric vehicle. Here are the best new and used electric luxury cars available.

How We Rank Vehicles

1. 2025 BMW i4

2022 BMW i4

  • Price: $57,900
  • Pros: Eager acceleration, comfortable ride, impressive battery range
  • Cons: Vague steering, competitors offer more backseat legroom

Driving range is a top consideration for many EV buyers, and the i4 fares well in this area, traveling up to 318 miles on a fully charged battery. In addition, this BMW impresses with its gentle ride. It’s a pleasant choice for running errands and commuting. Like many EVs, the i4 delivers bracing acceleration. Every powertrain is eager and rewarding, but the top 536-horsepower setup is the most impressive. There are also some weaknesses to consider: The backseat is cramped, with less legroom than some rivals, and this EV suffers from vague steering.

2. 2025 BMW i5

2024 BMW i5 M60

  • Price: $70,100
  • Pros: Ample trunk space, posh cabin, engaging performance
  • Cons: Rivals have more straightforward infotainment systems, competitors have more driving range

The i5 is for drivers seeking a luxury electric vehicle (EV) with a posh cabin and engaging performance. The i5 provides lively handling, and it feels sure-footed in daily driving. It also impresses with its plush cabin, showcasing an elegant design and top-drawer materials. This BMW also provides outstanding cargo room; with 17.3 cubic feet of cargo capacity, it has one of the most enormous trunks in its class. There are some drawbacks to consider: Its 295-mile maximum driving range is solid and will be enough for most drivers, but some picks in its class can travel much farther on a full charge. Also, this EV’s infotainment system has a learning curve; competitors have more straightforward setups.

3. 2025 Tesla Model S

2020 Tesla Model S

  • Price: $74,990
  • Pros: Performance and power, cool tech
  • Cons: Not as luxurious as rivals

It’s hard to beat the Model S if you’re looking for a vehicle with quick acceleration. This car’s handling is also impressive; though the Model S is a large vehicle, it feels planted and secure when tackling corners. A driving range of up to 405 miles makes the Model S a practical choice, as does its 25 cubic feet of cargo space. There are also some drawbacks to consider. Given its steep price, this SUV’s cabin falls short; rival interiors look more deluxe. Also, like all Tesla vehicles, the Model S isn’t available with Apple CarPlay or Android Auto.

4. 2025 Mercedes-Benz EQE

  • Price: $74,900
  • Pros: Nice interior, strong acceleration
  • Cons: Not as nimble as some rivals

The EQE is priced below Mercedes’ ultra-luxurious EQS electric luxury sedan. The EQE is fitted with a raft of comfort and tech features, including the optional Hyperscreen that combines three screens into one seamless 56-inch infotainment display that spans the dashboard’s width. The range-topping AMG trim boasts effortless acceleration with just two motors. Don’t expect it to match the handling prowess of other sedans on this list. It’s a luxury cruiser at heart.

5. 2024 Genesis Electrified G80

2025 Genesis G80

  • Price: $74,375
  • Pros: Large cabin, elegant design
  • Cons: Cumbersome infotainment controls

The Genesis Electrified G80 has a spacious, upscale cabin with premium materials and solid fit-and-finish. The AWD EV has dual electric motors that make 365 horsepower. Genesis equips the G80 with numerous standard features and driver aids. However, there are a few shortcomings to consider. This Genesis has less cargo room than some competitors, and the infotainment system can be distracting at times. The G80’s fuel efficiency could be better; other cars in this class get better gas mileage.

6. 2025 Lucid Air

  • Price: $71,400
  • Pros: Performance and power, shiny new brand
  • Cons: Uncertainty around the new brand

The Lucid features a posh, modern interior with some conventional controls and various digital screens that emulate traditional controls. The Air is offered in four trims, with various ranges and outputs. The entry-level model is the Pure, which comes with a single 480-horsepower electric motor. The range-topping Dream Edition offers a Performance trim with 1,111 horsepower and the Sapphire trim with 1,234 hp. There’s also a Range version of the Dream Edition, which sacrifices output for distance, but it still makes 933 horsepower.

7. 2024 Rivian R1S

2023 Rivian R1S

  • Price: $78,000
  • Pros: Acceleration, off-road capability, unique design, unique storage
  • Cons: Can be expensive

The 3-row Rivian R1S and the R1T pickup truck have a similar design inside and out, including the brisk acceleration from the available Quad Motor trim. Off-road performance is impressive, with Rivian developing the R1S to compete with the Range Rover when the going gets rough. The interior of the R1S is luxurious. Two huge screens serve as the infotainment and driver information centers, and the boxy shape and engine-less front trunk provide ample storage. The R1S also has a couple of drawbacks: Apple CarPlay and Android Auto aren’t available, and this SUV is one of the most expensive picks in its class.

8. 2025 Tesla Model X

2022 Tesla Model X

  • Price: $79,990
  • Pros: Unbelievable power, cool tech
  • Cons: High price

The Model X is one of only two electric SUVs – together with the Model Y – with an optional third row. It accelerates faster than any production SUV and rides and handles much like a smaller car. The Model X has an upscale, roomy interior with lots of cargo space. It has dual-motor all-wheel drive (AWD) and advanced driver-assist systems (ADAS). However, it doesn’t support Android Auto or Apple CarPlay. The Model X relies on Tesla’s internet-based infotainment features.

9. 2025 Polestar 2

  • Price: $64,800
  • Pros: Lively acceleration, good price
  • Cons: Ungainly proportions cut into cargo space

The Polestar 2 is a fun car to drive on a daily commute or weekend outing. The cabin features modern design elements and deluxe accommodations. Its Scandinavian aesthetic feels clean, and the materials are top-notch. There’s also comfortable, adult-friendly seating in both rows. There are a couple of weaknesses to consider. For one, the Polestar 2’s ride quality suffers with the available Performance Pack; it improves handling but brings a stiff ride. Also, the cabin has minimal storage space for smaller personal items.

10. 2024 Mercedes-Benz EQS

  • Price: $104,400
  • Pros: Bright and modern interior, loaded with tech, amazing acceleration; comfortable
  • Cons: The price, less rear-seat headroom than the S-Class

The EQS Sedan offers a spacious, upscale interior. Unfortunately, the sloping roofline cuts in on the rear-seat headroom. But the EQS wows with its full glass dash, aka the Hyperscreen. The base model is the EQS 450+ sedan, which comes standard with a single electric motor at the rear wheels that makes 355 horsepower. This model has a range of 350 miles. The EQS 580 4Matic features a dual-motor setup making a combined 536 horsepower, with a driving range of 340 miles.

11. 2024 Mercedes-Benz EQS SUV

  • Price: $104,400
  • Pros: Upscale cabin
  • Cons: High price

The EQS sedan and SUV separate themselves from the pack with their dazzling tech features, indulgent interiors, and powerful electric motors. Output ranges from 355 to 649 horsepower, while the maximum range on a full charge should be around 300 miles. While both EQS models are available with cutting-edge tech features that include a 56-inch Hyperscreen, the lack of physical controls and enormous digital real estate can be difficult to use. If you’ve always aspired to pilot Star Trek’s USS Enterprise, this is the cabin for you. Both EQS models emphasize comfort above athletic handling, resulting in lackluster driving dynamics compared to rivals.

12. 2025 Genesis GV60

  • Price: $52,350
  • Pros: Decent price
  • Cons: Rivals have more range

The GV60 offers spirited acceleration, especially with the Performance model. This EV also delivers a comfortable ride, making it a pleasant companion for commuting and road trips. Genesis equips the GV60 with desirable standard equipment, including a 12.3-inch touchscreen. There are also some shortcomings to keep in mind: With just 24.7 cubic feet of space behind the backseat and 54.7 cubic feet behind the first row, cargo capacity lags the GV60’s competitors. Also, rival EVs have more driving range.

13. 2025 Audi Q4 e-tron

2023 Audi Q4

  • Price: $49,800
  • Pros: Lots of high-tech features
  • Cons: Less power and range than rivals, Sportback version costs more and offers less space

The Audi Q4 e-tron is a worthy choice for drivers in the luxury SUV segment who want a right-size two-row model and can also accommodate home charging. The Q4 e-tron is available in standard and coupe-like Sportback versions. The base model has a more horizontal top and a single-motor, rear-wheel-drive (RWD) powertrain that generates 201 horsepower. Standard on the Sportback model (and available on the standard version) is a dual-motor setup that sends an energetic 295 horses to all four wheels. The operating range on a charge runs from 236 to 265 miles, depending on the configuration. The Q4 can be charged to 80% in 36 minutes via a DC fast charging station. The Q4 e-tron is packed with high-tech features and key driver-assist safety systems.

14. 2025 Cadillac Lyriq

  • Price: $58,595
  • Pros: Plush cabin, cushioned ride, many standard features
  • Cons: No front trunk, rivals have more straightforward infotainment systems

The Lyriq is designed for drivers seeking a premium SUV that’s comfortable and deluxe. This Cadillac impresses with its deluxe cabin. All models use high-end materials, and top trims treat passengers to upgrades like Nappa leather upholstery. Drivers who value a smooth ride will also appreciate what the Lyriq offers; its suspension is tuned for comfort, soaking up bumps before they can jostle those seated in the cabin. The Lyriq also offers lots of appealing standard features. The Lyriq also has some weaknesses to keep in mind. First, though its infotainment system looks great and is reasonably straightforward, it has numerous menus. Also, unlike many EVs, the Lyriq doesn’t provide a front trunk.

15. 2024 Audi Q8 e-tron

2024 Audi Q8 e-tron

  • Price: $74,400
  • Pros: Attractive inside and out
  • Cons: High price

The Q8 e-tron is for drivers seeking an EV with smooth handling and upscale accommodations. One of the first things buyers will notice about this Audi is its high-quality cabin, which showcases a tasteful design and premium materials. The Q8 e-tron’s ride quality highlights comfort, as well, with a suspension tuned to ease harshness over rough road surfaces. The Q8 e-tron can travel up to 300 miles on a fully charged battery. There are a couple of weaknesses to keep in mind. First, while this Audi delivers solid acceleration, it’s not as quick or powerful as some of its rivals. Also, the Q8 e-tron is one of the most expensive models in its class.

16. 2024 Mercedes-Benz EQB

2024 Mercedes EQB / Credit: Mercedes
  • Price: $53,050
  • Pros: Roomy, good price
  • Cons: Not as agile as rivals

The EQB is for drivers seeking a compact SUV with premium accommodations and emission-free performance. The EQB delivers lively acceleration and a driving range lengthy enough to make it a practical choice for most drivers, and its handling is comfortable and refined. There are also a couple of areas where the EQB fails to impress. Its optional third-row seats are a tight fit for adults, and unlike the typical EV in this class, it doesn’t have a front trunk for added storage space.

17. 2024 Acura ZDX

2024 Acura ZDX

  • Price: $64,500
  • Pros: Roomy cabin, ample cargo space, competitive driving range, many standard features
  • Cons: Rivals have nicer cabins, competitors have quicker charging times

The Acura ZDX is an excellent choice for drivers seeking a premium, roomy, comfortable electric vehicle. Both rows have solid legroom, so even taller passengers can get comfortable in the backseat. In addition, the ZDX has ample cargo space, offering up to 63 cubic feet with the rear seats folded. The ZDX delivers a competitive driving range, traveling 313 miles on a full charge with RWD. You also get a generous selection of standard features. There are a couple of weaknesses to keep in mind. The ZDX’s cabin has a few hard plastics, making it feel less upscale than some rivals, and its charging time also lags its competitors.

18. 2025 Genesis Electrified GV70

  • Price: $66,950

  • Cons: Firm seats, touchscreen isn’t ergonomically placed

The GV70 sets itself apart with its upmarket cabin, which showcases an elegant design and high-quality materials everywhere you look. This SUV also has the relaxed ride that shoppers in this segment value. Its suspension filters out bumps and jolts, making the GV70 an excellent daily driver. The GV70’s stout engines also impress. Both powertrains can facilitate zippy acceleration. The seats are firm, and the touchscreen is far from the driver, so you may have to stretch to access it when you’re behind the wheel.

19. 2025 Porsche Taycan

  • Price: $99,400
  • Pros: Thrilling handling, swift acceleration, upscale cabin
  • Cons: So-so driving range, rivals have roomier backseats

The Taycan is Porsche’s first all-electric vehicle, and it delivers the lively handling the brand’s gas-powered models are known for. It’s an energetic companion for commuting and road trips, with the power to transform basic travel into something delightful. This car impresses with its swift acceleration; the powertrains in top trims are the most potent, but even the base powertrain is built to impress. In addition, the Taycan treats passengers to a posh cabin decked out with the finest materials. There are a couple of weaknesses to keep in mind: The Taycan’s driving range tops out at 246 miles, which is mediocre among luxury EVs, and rivals have roomier backseats.

Part of a recent wave of impressive EVs from BMW, the BMW i7 brings the styling and accommodations of the latest 7 Series flagship to a full-electric, zero-emissions alternative – with a few aggressive styling tweaks. Operating range runs from 274-321 miles, depending on the powertrain and wheels chosen. The RZ’s handsome cabin showcases a stylish design and upmarket materials. Many amenities come standard. There are some weaknesses to consider.
