Fiat Chrysler is recalling 99,128 of its Ram ProMaster commercial vans because the engine cooling fan motor may overheat. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration says this increases the likelihood of a fire.

Vans with the 3.6-liter gasoline V6 and the 3.0-liter turbodiesel engine are affected.

What’s the problem?: The engine cooling fan could seize up, leading to an overheated fan motor. According to NHTSA, this increases the risk of a fire.

Vehicles involved: The recall is for 99,128 Ram ProMaster commercial vans:

  • 2015-2018 Ram ProMaster commercial vans built from April 30, 2015 through November 1, 2017

What’s the fix?: Fiat Chrysler is still working on a remedy at this time.
