This CARFAX Vehicle History Report is based only on information supplied to CARFAX and available as of 11/16/18 at 4:47:37 AM (CST). Other information about this vehicle, including problems, may not have been reported to CARFAX. Use this report as one important tool, along with a vehicle inspection and test drive, to make a better decision about your next used car.
Odometer Check
CARFAX analyzes mileage data to help identify potential:
  • Rollbacks - odometer tampering to conceal a car's true mileage (i.e. Fraud or illegal activity)
  • Rollovers - after reaching the maximum reading, the odometer restarts from zero (i.e. Mechanical or equipment limitation)
  • Inconsistencies - conflicting mileage data means CARFAX cannot determine if it's a potential rollback (i.e. Potential human error)
Loss Due To Fire Title
The vehicle sustained major damage due to fire. In most states, fire damage titles are issued when the cost of repairing the vehicle for safe operation exceeds its fair market value.
Manufacturer Recall
Automobile manufacturers issue recall notices to inform owners of car defects that have come to the manufacturer's attention. Recalls also suggest improvements that can be made to improve the safety of a particular vehicle. Most manufacturer recalls can be repaired at no cost to you.

Loss Due To Fire Title
The vehicle sustained major damage due to fire. In most states, fire damage titles are issued when the cost of repairing the vehicle for safe operation exceeds its fair market value.
Junk Title
A Junk Title is issued on a vehicle damaged to the extent that the cost of repairing the vehicle exceeds approximately 75% of its pre-damage value. This damage threshold may vary by state. The majority of states use this title to indicate that a vehicle is not road worthy and cannot be titled again. Some states treat Junk titles the same as Salvage.
Rebuilt/Reconstructed Title
A Rebuilt/Reconstructed vehicle is a salvage vehicle that has been repaired and restored to operation. These vehicles are often severely damaged before they are rebuilt and refurbished parts are typically used during reconstruction. In most states, an inspection of the vehicle is required before the vehicle is allowed to return to the road.
Dismantled Title
The vehicle sustained major damage to one or more major component parts and the cost of repairing the vehicle for safe operation exceeds its fair market value. When a Dismantled title is issued, the vehicle may be used only for parts or scrap metal. It cannot be re-titled or returned to the road.
Flood Damage Title
States issue flood titles when a vehicle has been in a flood or has received extensive water damage.
Accident / Damage Indicator
Various events could indicate an accident or damage in a vehicle's history, such as: salvage auction, fire damage, police-reported accident, crash test vehicle, damage disclosure, collision repair facility and automotive recycler records. See the glossary for more information.

The following eleven States also use Salvage titles to identify stolen vehicles - AZ, FL, GA, IL, MD, MN, NJ, NM, NY, OK and OR.
Total Loss
An insurance or fleet company declares a vehicle a total loss when a claim exceeds approximately 75% of its pre-damage value or if the vehicle is stolen and not recovered. This damage threshold varies by company. These companies typically take possession and obtain the title. Not all total loss vehicles result in a DMV-reported branded title, like a Salvage or Junk title. See the glossary for more information.

2014 MAZDA6 FUEL IN CANISTER
Status: Remedy Available

Locate an authorized Mazda dealer near you to schedule an appointment

Description: Mazda6 Fuel Tank Can be Overfilled. It is possible to fill the fuel tank beyond its rated capacity.

If the fuel tank is overfilled, gas may flow into the charcoal canster and possibly leak from the canister's external vent, increasing the risk of a fire.

Remedy: Dealers will add an adapter to the shut-off valve in the fuel tank and also inspect the charcoal canister for the presence of gasoline, replacing it as necessary. These repairs will be made free of charge.

MAZDA6 TPMS IMPROPER OPERATION
Status: Remedy Available

Locate an authorized Mazda dealer near you to schedule an appointment

Description: 2014-2015 Mazda6 Tire Pressure Monitoring System Noncompliance. Certain Mazda6 vehicles do not comply with the detection requirement specified in the Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) No. 138; Tire Pressure Monitoring Systems. The FMVSS No. 138 requires that the tire pressure monitoring system (TPMS) must illuminate a low tire pressure warning telltale within 20 minutes after the inflation pressure in one or more of the vehicle?s tires, up to a total of four tires, is equal to or less than either the pressure 25 percent below the vehicle manufacturer?s recommended cold inflation pressure, or the pressure specified in this standard, whichever is higher. The subject Mazda6 vehicles may not satisfy this detection requirement if the inflation pressure of all four tires simultaneously and gradually drops by 25 percent.

A vehicle operated with underinflated tires could lead to a tire blowout, increasing the risk of a crash.

Remedy: Dealers will reprogram the control software of TPMS within the dynamic stability control (DSC) unit with the modified calibration to satisfy the detection requirement.

REAR PARKING BRAKE CONCERN
Status: Remedy Available

Locate an authorized Mazda dealer near you to schedule an appointment

Description: On the mechanical (cable) type parking brake, water may enter the brake caliper due to inappropriate sealing performance of the rear brake caliper protective boot, particularly under low temperature conditions, and the parking brake actuator shaft, which is the component of rear brake caliper, may be rusted.

If the vehicle continues to be used with such condition, the rust may progress, increasing the sliding resistance of the actuator shaft. In extreme cases, the rusted actuator shaft may get stuck in the brake caliper body, causing brake dragging while driving and decreasing the parking brake holding force, which may result in unexpected movement of vehicle if parked on a slope, increasing the risk of a collision.

Remedy: Your Mazda dealer will check the parking brake actuator shafts inside the left and right rear brake calipers. If the actuator shaft is found to be rusted, the brake caliper assembly will be replaced with a modified one. If no rust is found on the actuator shaft, the protective boot will be replaced with a modified one. The inspection and repair will be performed at no cost to you.

Glossary

First Owner
When the first owner(s) obtains a title from a Department of Motor Vehicles as proof of ownership.
New Owner Reported
When a vehicle is sold to a new owner, the Title must be transferred to the new owner(s) at a Department of Motor Vehicles.
Ownership History
CARFAX defines an owner as an individual or business that possesses and uses a vehicle. Not all title transactions represent changes in ownership. To provide estimated number of owners, CARFAX proprietary technology analyzes all the events in a vehicle history. Estimated ownership is available for vehicles manufactured after 1991 and titled solely in the US including Puerto Rico. Dealers sometimes opt to take ownership of a vehicle and are required to in the following states: Maine, Massachusetts, New Jersey, Ohio, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania and South Dakota. Please consider this as you review a vehicle's estimated ownership history.
Repossession
When a repossession occurs a vehicle owner fails to make loan payments, and the financial institution holding the title takes possession of the vehicle.
Title Issued
A state issues a title to provide a vehicle owner with proof of ownership. Each title has a unique number. Each title or registration record on a CARFAX report does not necessarily indicate a change in ownership. In Canada, a registration and bill of sale are used as proof of ownership.
