This CARFAX Vehicle History Report is based only on information supplied to CARFAX and available as of 12/11/18 at 11:09:25 AM (CST). Other information about this vehicle, including problems, may not have been reported to CARFAX. Use this report as one important tool, along with a vehicle inspection and test drive, to make a better decision about your next used car.
Odometer Check
CARFAX analyzes mileage data to help identify potential:
  • Rollbacks - odometer tampering to conceal a car's true mileage (i.e. Fraud or illegal activity)
  • Rollovers - after reaching the maximum reading, the odometer restarts from zero (i.e. Mechanical or equipment limitation)
  • Inconsistencies - conflicting mileage data means CARFAX cannot determine if it's a potential rollback (i.e. Potential human error)
Flood Damage Title
States issue flood titles when a vehicle has been in a flood or has received extensive water damage.
Manufacturer Recall
Automobile manufacturers issue recall notices to inform owners of car defects that have come to the manufacturer's attention. Recalls also suggest improvements that can be made to improve the safety of a particular vehicle. Most manufacturer recalls can be repaired at no cost to you.
Accident / Damage Indicator
Various events could indicate an accident or damage in a vehicle's history, such as: salvage auction, fire damage, police-reported accident, crash test vehicle, damage disclosure, collision repair facility and automotive recycler records. See the glossary for more information.
Flood Damage Title
States issue flood titles when a vehicle has been in a flood or has received extensive water damage.
Manufacturer Buyback or Lemon Title
A DMV or a state agency marks an official document or issues a Manufacturer Buyback/Lemon title when a vehicle has been repurchased by the manufacturer. Not all states issue manufacturer buyback titles and the specific requirements for a lemon law vehicle varies by state.
Structural Damage
All levels of accidents, from minor to severe, can cause structural damage to a vehicle (i.e., damage to the frame or unibody).
Structural Damage
All levels of accidents, from minor to severe, can cause structural damage to a vehicle (i.e., damage to the frame or unibody).
Hail Damage Title
The vehicle sustained major damage due to hail. In most states, hail damage titles are issued when the cost of repairing the vehicle for safe operation exceeds its fair market value.
Salvage Title
A Salvage Title is issued on a vehicle damaged to the extent that the cost of repairing the vehicle exceeds approximately 75% of its pre-damage value. This damage threshold may vary by state. Some states treat Junk titles the same as Salvage but the majority use this title to indicate that a vehicle is not road worthy and cannot be titled again in that state. The following eleven States also use Salvage titles to identify stolen vehicles - AZ, FL, GA, IL, MD, MN, NJ, NM, NY, OK and OR.
Total Loss
An insurance or fleet company declares a vehicle a total loss when a claim exceeds approximately 75% of its pre-damage value or if the vehicle is stolen and not recovered. This damage threshold varies by company. These companies typically take possession and obtain the title. Not all total loss vehicles result in a DMV-reported branded title, like a Salvage or Junk title. See the glossary for more information.
Not Actual Mileage Title
When the seller certifies, under the Federal Odometer Act, that the odometer reading does not reflect the vehicle's actual mileage. This may occur because the odometer was tampered with, broken, or replaced.
Basic Warranty
Most manufacturers offer a basic warranty for new vehicles. These warranties vary by manufacturer and typically last for a certain amount of time and/or a set number of miles.
Junk Title
A Junk Title is issued on a vehicle damaged to the extent that the cost of repairing the vehicle exceeds approximately 75% of its pre-damage value. This damage threshold may vary by state. The majority of states use this title to indicate that a vehicle is not road worthy and cannot be titled again. Some states treat Junk titles the same as Salvage.
Rebuilt/Reconstructed Title
A Rebuilt/Reconstructed vehicle is a salvage vehicle that has been repaired and restored to operation. These vehicles are often severely damaged before they are rebuilt and refurbished parts are typically used during reconstruction. In most states, an inspection of the vehicle is required before the vehicle is allowed to return to the road.

ROGUE LIFTGTE STAY NTB16-105
Status: Remedy Not Yet Available

Locate an authorized Nissan dealer near you to obtain more information about this recall

Description: On certain Model Year 2014-2016 Rogue vehicles, the anti-corrosion treatment on the rear lift gate stays may be insufficient. The rear lift gate stays provide power assist to the rear lift gate and operate under high pressure gas. If the anti-corrosion coating is insufficient, in certain rare instances, the rear lift gate stay may corrode over time due to salt and water penetration; causing a sudden release of pressure.

If corrosion of the rear door stays occurs, they may break off and potentially cause an injury.

Remedy: Nissan is currently awaiting parts to remedy the affected vehicles. Nissan will send you a second letter, when parts are available, asking you to bring your vehicle to a Nissan dealer for the remedy at that time. This repair is free of charge for parts and labor. In the meantime, if you believe there is an issue with the rear door stays your vehicle, you may bring your vehicle into the nearest Nissan dealer for inspection.

ALT RGE CVT P0776 NTB16-121
Status: Remedy Available

Locate an authorized Nissan dealer near you to obtain more information about this campaign

Description: Under specific driving conditions, hydraulic pressure may decrease and result in belt slip within the CVT. This may result in MIL illumination. Continuing to drive the vehicle in this condition can lead to accelerated wear and damage to the CVT. Nissan is proactively reprogramming the Transmission Control Module (TCM) with updated CVT software to prevent decreased hydraulic pressure and belt slip from occurring. This is not a safety issue, and the vehicle still meets and/or exceeds all applicable safety standards.

Failure to have this reprogramming performed in a timely manner could result in future damage to your vehicle?s transmission. If repair or replacement of the transmission becomes necessary outside of the powertrain warranty period, the resulting repair costs will be at the owner?s expense.

Remedy: To assure your continued satisfaction and confidence in your vehicle, and prevent possible future damage to the CVT, your Nissan dealer will reprogram the Transmission Control Module (TCM) at no charge to you for parts or labor. The service should take less than one (1) hour to complete, but your Nissan dealer may require your vehicle for a longer period of time based upon their work schedule.

Accident Indicator
CARFAX receives information about accidents in all 50 states, the District of Columbia and Canada.

Not every accident is reported to CARFAX. As details about the accident become available, those additional details are added to the CARFAX Vehicle History Report. CARFAX recommends that you have this vehicle inspected by a qualified mechanic.
  • According to the National Safety Council, Injury Facts, 2015 edition, 8% of the 254 million registered vehicles in the U.S. were involved in an accident in 2013. Over 74% of these were considered minor or moderate.
  • This CARFAX Vehicle History Report is based only on information supplied to CARFAX and available as of 12/11/18 at 11:09:25 AM (CST). Other information about this vehicle, including problems, may not have been reported to CARFAX. Use this report as one important tool, along with a vehicle inspection and test drive, to make a better decision about your next used car.
Indiana Damage Reports:
  • Provide an estimate of the extent of damage only if the accident resulted in fire damage.
  • Are required if the estimated damage exceeds $1000
First Owner
When the first owner(s) obtains a title from a Department of Motor Vehicles as proof of ownership.
Fleet Vehicle
Vehicle was registered or sold to a company that manages vehicle fleets.
Ownership History
CARFAX defines an owner as an individual or business that possesses and uses a vehicle. Not all title transactions represent changes in ownership. To provide estimated number of owners, CARFAX proprietary technology analyzes all the events in a vehicle history. Estimated ownership is available for vehicles manufactured after 1991 and titled solely in the US including Puerto Rico. Dealers sometimes opt to take ownership of a vehicle and are required to in the following states: Maine, Massachusetts, New Jersey, Ohio, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania and South Dakota. Please consider this as you review a vehicle's estimated ownership history.
CARFAX DEPENDS ON ITS SOURCES FOR THE ACCURACY AND RELIABILITY OF ITS INFORMATION. THEREFORE, NO RESPONSIBILITY IS ASSUMED BY CARFAX OR ITS AGENTS FOR ERRORS OR OMISSIONS IN THIS REPORT.
