This CARFAX Vehicle History Report is based only on information supplied to CARFAX and available as of 12/13/18 at 10:37:01 PM (CST). Other information about this vehicle, including problems, may not have been reported to CARFAX. Use this report as one important tool, along with a vehicle inspection and test drive, to make a better decision about your next used car.
Loss Due To Fire Title
The vehicle sustained major damage due to fire. In most states, fire damage titles are issued when the cost of repairing the vehicle for safe operation exceeds its fair market value.
Rebuilt/Reconstructed Title
A Rebuilt/Reconstructed vehicle is a salvage vehicle that has been repaired and restored to operation. These vehicles are often severely damaged before they are rebuilt and refurbished parts are typically used during reconstruction. In most states, an inspection of the vehicle is required before the vehicle is allowed to return to the road.
Airbag Deployment
Occurs when the driver, passenger or side airbag has been used or deployed during a crash or other incident. If an airbag has been deployed, it must be replaced by a qualified technician. Have this car inspected by a mechanic prior to purchase.
Accident / Damage Indicator
Various events could indicate an accident or damage in a vehicle's history, such as: salvage auction, fire damage, police-reported accident, crash test vehicle, damage disclosure, collision repair facility and automotive recycler records. See the glossary for more information.
Manufacturer Buyback or Lemon Title
A DMV or a state agency marks an official document or issues a Manufacturer Buyback/Lemon title when a vehicle has been repurchased by the manufacturer. Not all states issue manufacturer buyback titles and the specific requirements for a lemon law vehicle varies by state.
Total Loss
An insurance or fleet company declares a vehicle a total loss when a claim exceeds approximately 75% of its pre-damage value or if the vehicle is stolen and not recovered. This damage threshold varies by company. These companies typically take possession and obtain the title. Not all total loss vehicles result in a DMV-reported branded title, like a Salvage or Junk title. See the glossary for more information.
Airbag Deployment
Occurs when the driver, passenger or side airbag has been used or deployed during a crash or other incident. If an airbag has been deployed, it must be replaced by a qualified technician. Have this car inspected by a mechanic prior to purchase.
Hail Damage Title
The vehicle sustained major damage due to hail. In most states, hail damage titles are issued when the cost of repairing the vehicle for safe operation exceeds its fair market value.
Loss Due To Fire Title
The vehicle sustained major damage due to fire. In most states, fire damage titles are issued when the cost of repairing the vehicle for safe operation exceeds its fair market value.
Not Actual Mileage Title
When the seller certifies, under the Federal Odometer Act, that the odometer reading does not reflect the vehicle's actual mileage. This may occur because the odometer was tampered with, broken, or replaced.
Manufacturer Recall
Automobile manufacturers issue recall notices to inform owners of car defects that have come to the manufacturer's attention. Recalls also suggest improvements that can be made to improve the safety of a particular vehicle. Most manufacturer recalls can be repaired at no cost to you.
Odometer Check
CARFAX analyzes mileage data to help identify potential:
  • Rollbacks - odometer tampering to conceal a car's true mileage (i.e. Fraud or illegal activity)
  • Rollovers - after reaching the maximum reading, the odometer restarts from zero (i.e. Mechanical or equipment limitation)
  • Inconsistencies - conflicting mileage data means CARFAX cannot determine if it's a potential rollback (i.e. Potential human error)
Basic Warranty
Most manufacturers offer a basic warranty for new vehicles. These warranties vary by manufacturer and typically last for a certain amount of time and/or a set number of miles.
Junk Title
A Junk Title is issued on a vehicle damaged to the extent that the cost of repairing the vehicle exceeds approximately 75% of its pre-damage value. This damage threshold may vary by state. The majority of states use this title to indicate that a vehicle is not road worthy and cannot be titled again. Some states treat Junk titles the same as Salvage.
Hail Damage Title
The vehicle sustained major damage due to hail. In most states, hail damage titles are issued when the cost of repairing the vehicle for safe operation exceeds its fair market value.
Manufacturer Recall

States issue flood titles when a vehicle has been in a flood or has received extensive water damage.

These vehicles are often severely damaged before they are rebuilt and refurbished parts are typically used during reconstruction. In most states, an inspection of the vehicle is required before the vehicle is allowed to return to the road.
Exceeds Mechanical Limits Title
A vehicle with a 5-digit odometer cannot accurately track mileage after 99,999 miles because the odometer rolls over. This title is the result of a seller certifying under the Federal Odometer Act, that the odometer reading EXCEEDS MECHANICAL LIMITS of the odometer.
Salvage Title
A Salvage Title is issued on a vehicle damaged to the extent that the cost of repairing the vehicle exceeds approximately 75% of its pre-damage value. This damage threshold may vary by state. Some states treat Junk titles the same as Salvage but the majority use this title to indicate that a vehicle is not road worthy and cannot be titled again in that state. The following eleven States also use Salvage titles to identify stolen vehicles - AZ, FL, GA, IL, MD, MN, NJ, NM, NY, OK and OR.
Structural Damage
All levels of accidents, from minor to severe, can cause structural damage to a vehicle (i.e., damage to the frame or unibody).

NHTSA #16V-933
Recall #KD5 2nd Row Walk-In Function Inop
Status: Remedy Available

Locate an authorized Honda dealer to obtain more information about this recall

Description: AMERICAN HONDA MOTOR CO., INC. (HONDA) IS RECALLING CERTAIN MODEL YEAR2011-2016 ODYSSEY VEHICLES. THE SECOND ROW OUTBOARD SEATS INSTALLEDIN AFFECTED VEHICLES HAVE A RELEASE LEVER FOR THE WALK-IN FEATURE WHICH FOLDS THE SEATBACK AND SLIDES THE SEAT FORWARD FOR ACCESS TO THETHIRD ROW SEAT. DUE TO SEAT COMPONENT MANUFACTURING AND ASSEMBLY ERRORS, THERE IS POTENTIAL FOR THE SEAT TO STAY IN THE UNLOCKED POSITION AFTER RETURNING THE SEAT TO ITS NORMAL SEATING POSITION, WHICH WOULD ALLOW THE SEAT TO SLIDE FORWARD OR REARWARD WITHOUT WARNING.

AN UNLOCKED SECOND ROW OUTBOARD SEAT INCREASES THE RISK OF INJURY TO THE SEAT OCCUPANT DURING A CRASH.

Remedy: HONDA WILL NOTIFY OWNERS, AND DEALERS WILLINSTALL ADDITONAL BRACKETSAND SPRINGS TO BOTH SECOND ROW OUTBOARD SEATS, FREE OF CHARGE. OWNERSMAY CONTACT HONDA AUTOMOBILE CUSTOMER SERVICE AT 1-888-234-2138. HONDA'S NUMBER FOR THIS RECALL IS KD5.

03/07/2018     American Honda Motor Co. Manufacturer Safety-related recall issued
NHTSA #18V-170
Recall #X0R Left (Driver Side) 2nd Row Seat
Recliner
Status: Remedy Available

Locate an authorized Honda dealer to obtain more information about this recall

Description: American Honda Motor Co., inc. (Honda) is recalling certain model year 2014 - 2016 Odyssey vehicles. The second row outboard seats have levers for the walk-in feature which folds the seatback and slides the seat forward for access to the third row seat. Due to a manufacturing error, if the walk-in lever is used to fold a fully reclined left (drivers side) outboard seatback forward, the seatback recliner mechanism may malfunction, allowing the seatback to stay in the unlocked position or unexpectedly unlock without using the walk-in or recliner lever. This recall is separate from NHTSA Recall 17V-725, which also involves the functioning of the second row left (drivers side) outboard seat, and involves different seat components and functions. The repair for 17V-725 (installation of a bracket on the rear outboard strikers) will not resolve this recall; both recall repairs need to be conducted on your vehicle.

An unlocked second row left outboard seatback increases the risk of injury to the seats occupant during a crash.

Remedy: Please call any authorized Honda dealer and make an appointment to have your vehicle repaired. Your dealer will check for proper operation of the second row left outboard seatback recliner. If operating properly, a support bracket will be added to the seatback recliner to ensure locking/unlocking functionality. If the seatback cannot lock, the seatback frame assembly will be replaced. Support bracket installation or seatback frame replacement, if necessary, will be completed for free. For additional questions or to get help locating a dealer, owners may contact American Hondas Customer Support & Campaign Center at 1-888-234-2138. Hondas number for this recall is X0R.

03/07/2018     American Honda Motor Co. Manufacturer Safety-related recall issued
NHTSA #17V-725
Recall #P0Q 2nd Row Outer Seat Striker Bracket
(Seat Tipping)
Status: Remedy Available

Locate an authorized Honda dealer to obtain more information about this recall

Description: American Honda Motor Co., inc. (Honda) is recalling certain model year 2011 - 2017 Odyssey vehicles. The second row outer (outboard) seats can be placed in two positions, standard and wide. When installing or repositioning the seat into either position, it is possible that the rear latch may not attach properly to the correct position on the seat striker.

An unlatched second row outer seat could tip forward during moderate to heavy braking increasing the risk of injury to an occupant, including a child seated in a LATCH child seat.

Remedy: Honda will notify owners in an interim notification that the parts necessary to repair their vehicles are currently not available. Included in the interim notification will be detailed instructions for installing/positioning second row outer seats and confirming that they are securely latched. These instructions can also be viewed on www.recalls.honda.com. Honda will send a second notification to owners when parts become available to repair their vehicles and dealers will install a bracket to the second row forward outboard floor strikers to prevent improper seat positioning, apply a warning label to the second row outboard seats and provide an updated owners information card for free. For additional questions or to get help locating a dealer, owners may contact American Honda's Customer Support & Campaign Center at 1-888-234-2138. Honda's number for this recall is P0Q.

Glossary

First Owner
When the first owner(s) obtains a title from a Department of Motor Vehicles as proof of ownership.
Ownership History
CARFAX defines an owner as an individual or business that possesses and uses a vehicle. Not all title transactions represent changes in ownership. To provide estimated number of owners, CARFAX proprietary technology analyzes all the events in a vehicle history. Estimated ownership is available for vehicles manufactured after 1991 and titled solely in the US including Puerto Rico. Dealers sometimes opt to take ownership of a vehicle and are required to in the following states: Maine, Massachusetts, New Jersey, Ohio, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania and South Dakota. Please consider this as you review a vehicle's estimated ownership history.
Title Issued
A state issues a title to provide a vehicle owner with proof of ownership. Each title has a unique number. Each title or registration record on a CARFAX report does not necessarily indicate a change in ownership. In Canada, a registration and bill of sale are used as proof of ownership.
CARFAX DEPENDS ON ITS SOURCES FOR THE ACCURACY AND RELIABILITY OF ITS INFORMATION. THEREFORE, NO RESPONSIBILITY IS ASSUMED BY CARFAX OR ITS AGENTS FOR ERRORS OR OMISSIONS IN THIS REPORT.
