On March 18, 2015, I signed a contract to purchase a 2020 Volvo V60 from Autos Direct of Fredericksburg. The price was fair.
At the time of purchase, I noticed that the driver's side rear lens was cracked. Autos Direct promised to replace it. They did so but after two return trips to Fredericksburg.
At the same time, I asked about a service warning light. I was told that the service department would check the cause. If it was checked, no one told me the result. As it turned out, the Volvo needed a new auxiliary battery.
Also at the time of purchase, I told the salesman that the Volvo should be titled in the name of my revocable trust. I gave him a copy of my current registration of another car as an example. Nonetheless, the Volvo was titled and registered in my name alone. I called the back-office support person who told me that no one ever told her about the special registration. I talked to the manager who said he had told her. I had to go to the DMV and re-title and re-register the car.

After shopping around for weeks, I found the one I liked ..Drove 4 hours to get the car after I was assured they still had it. When I showed up, met with the salesman , he informed me it was in the shop and they were probably taking it back to the auction. Ok, I know, should have been my 1st sign, but played along as he said he had another one I would like..He pulled around...hmmm, ok, not to bad, not exactly what I wanted but could make it work. 1st question, is it a 2.5 liter engine?...yes keep in mind this was asked several times)...has it ever been in an accident...no...ok, so I pull it up on my phone on their site as we were walking in to do the deal...eight thousand ninety five dollars...not bad....Fill out the application, wait, wait, and wait..Good news!!!...We got you in the car...he gets the paperwork, ok, now it all begins!!!...the car now is twelve thousand nine hundred dollars ...why not the listed price as advertised??...oh, thats the cash price ..me, a little to desperate to get a car, kept going...Has a 2.5 liter engine, never been in an accident, and has a 3 year warranty says ROCKY!!...Finished up, signed, and now have my new car...as Im driving away, following my sister and having a hard time keeping up with her, wondering why it didnt have a lot of power ...curiosity kicked in, got home, started researching...found the emission paper in glove box, pulled the VIN stating its a 1.5 liter engine ...took the car back the next morning, started smoking real bad, wouldnt start a couple times on the way there, finally got there and told them I wanted out of the contract and my one thousand dollar down payment back!!!..after dealing with them for a couple hours, they finally said ok, well cancel the contract and put your deposit back on the card....I knew that went to easy!!...3 days later, no $$$ still, called them, said it was put back in on February 2..waited till February 8..STILL NO MONEY!!!!..called the bank the car was financed through, loan still pending, never cancelled!! .Also found paperwork showing it had been in an accident, there was no 3 yr warranty, he slipped in a twenty two hundred dollar service contract, he changed the monthly income on the application without my consent, by an additional sixty five hundred just to get a sell!!...Drove back again to get my money, said check was in the mail, will have it tomorrow..tomorrow came, no check again!!!...So yesterday, I showed up at the lot again, then the manager had one more story to tell...said bank told him he had to change the engine out to make the car right...ARE YOU KIDDING ME, YOU THINK IM THAT STUPID???!!!!After hours of waiting again, finally cancelled contract and signed it, signed paper showing he deposited money back on card, but as of today, still not there

Be aware of the $1,400 to $2,000 in hidden fees not shown in the vehicle's advertised price. After driving 75 miles to the dealership, identifying repairs that need to be done to the car, and contentious price debate (hidden fees) with the salesperson, we picked up our car two days later. Thoroughly check out the vehicle to make sure it is mechanically sound and does not need repairs before purchasing. If it weren't for my son wanting this car, I would have gone somewhere else. I do not recommend this dealership.
