About Panoz
Unlike most automakers that specialize in high-performance vehicles, Panoz started off by making a powerful sports car and then went racing. The company’s first car, the Roadster, was a low-volume roofless sports car with a unique design. By 1996, Panoz renamed the Roadster to the AIV Roadster and put it into full production. Panoz’s second car was the Esperante, a sports car based on the Esperante GTR-1 race car that was developed to win the 24 Hours of Le Mans. The Esperante was available until 2006, standing out because of its distinctive exterior styling and powerful V8 engine. In 2010, Panoz debuted the Abruzzi “Spirit of Le Mans,” which was a hand-built sports car with a bold look and 640-horsepower V8 engine. The Abruzzi never made it to the U.S., but was available in other parts of the globe. While Panoz’s sports cars aren’t well known, the automaker is attributed with starting the American Le Mans racing series.Shop Used on CARFAX
