Nissan Titan XD Reviews
Nissan has dubbed the Titan XD an “every duty” truck, and with good reason. Offering the towing capabilities of a heavy-duty truck and the street manners of a light-duty pickup, the Nissan Titan XD is equally comfortable towing 12,000 pounds or carrying up to six passengers around town.
Nissan Titan XD Overview
An all-new model for 2016, the Nissan Titan XD provides everyday light-duty versatility with the muscles of a heavy-duty pickup. Nissan claims the Titan XD is the most capable, most advanced, most versatile and most powerful truck it has ever built.
The Titan XD features a turbodiesel 5.0-liter V8 engine that’s manufactured by Cummins and generates 310 horsepower and an impressive 555 pound-feet of torque. Available with rear- or four-wheel-drive, the Titan XD employs a six-speed automatic transmission. Equipped with a standard integrated gooseneck hitch that is built right into the frame, the Titan XD is a purpose-built towing machine that is able to pull up to 12,300 pounds. It also has a payload capacity of more than 2000 pounds.
The all-new Titan XD features a tech-filled, comfortable interior. The base model provides seating for six, while a set of captain’s chairs up front reduce seating capacity to five on higher trims. Features like leather upholstery, heated and ventilated front seats and a heated steering wheel are available.
The base Titan XD comes with features that include a color touch screen, Bluetooth and USB connectivity and steering wheel-mounted audio controls. Higher trims bring in a larger touch-screen display and features like a Rockford Fosgate audio system.
The unique nature of the Titan XD places the “every duty” pickup into a class of its own, a fact that Nissan is counting on in a highly competitive marketplace historically dominated by Ford, Chevrolet and Ram. Still, half-ton trucks like the Chevrolet Silverado 1500, Ram 1500, Toyota Tundra and the best-selling Ford F-150 are worth your consideration.
