About Mini
Few vehicles are as iconic as the original Mini. While the automaker’s vehicles have grown immensely in size compared to its classic vehicles, Mini’s modern cars continue to feature easily recognizable designs, spunky handling, and distinctive interior styling. Modern-day Mini is a part of BMW’s portfolio of brands.
Mini took a break from selling vehicles in the U.S. in 2000, but returned in 2002 with the Cooper hatchback. On top of the base trim, Mini offered the Cooper hatchback in sporty S and JCW trims. After seeing how popular the Cooper was, Mini set out to expand with larger vehicles such as the Clubman wagon, Countryman SUV, and Paceman hatchback. Leaning into its funky exterior styling, Mini also introduced the Cooper Coupe and Roadster in 2012, which were sports cars based on the hatchback.
The automaker’s current lineup features a lot of the same vehicles that were available in the 2010s. The Cooper hatchback available in both two- and four-door models, the Countryman SUV, and Clubman wagon continue to be sold. Most are available in sporty S and high-performance JCW trims. Mini also sells the Cooper Electric, which is an all-electric version of the hatchback. It originally came out in 2020 and a fully redesigned version is launching in 2024. Mini has also unveiled an electric version of the Countryman that will become its second pure EV.
