Building the first car is Mercedes-Benz’s main claim to fame. Despite its age, Mercedes is known for being an innovator, coming out with cutting-edge tech and safety features, including its Pre-Safe system, driver attention assist system, and Car-to-X Communication platform. Mercedes was also the first to fit a car with a four-wheel independent suspension, anti-lock brakes, and a multi-valve engine.

Mercedes-Benz has always had an extensive lineup of vehicles, ranging from small cars and executive sedans to robust SUVs. Many of Mercedes’ vehicles that were available in the early 2000s are still around today, too. Cars such as the C-Class, CL-Class, CLK, E-Class, S-Class, SLK, and SL-Class were available alongside SUVs such as the M-Class and G-Class. Remarkably, Mercedes continued to expand the line with new vehicles such as the R-Class and GL-Class.   

Throughout the years, Mercedes started to replace existing vehicles with more modern nameplates such as the GLK, GLS, GLE, and GLC. Newer vehicles such as the GLB, GLA, CLA, and A-Class were introduced to draw in a younger crowd to some of Mercedes-Benz’s more affordable options. 

On top of being a luxury and high-tech brand, Mercedes-Benz also has a lineup of high-powered AMG models. Nearly all of Mercedes-Benz’s vehicles are available with either an AMG package or a full-blown AMG model. Additionally, AMG has come out with a few vehicles of its own such as the SLS AMG and AMG GT. 

Mercedes has recently shifted its focus onto electrified vehicles with options such as the EQB, EQE sedan, EQE SUV, EQS sedan, and EQS SUV. Quite a few of Mercedes-Benz’s vehicles are also available with mild-hybrid engines to improve fuel economy and performance.
