About Jeep
Best known for providing the U.S. Army with a rugged vehicle during WW2, Jeep continues to be known for its go-anywhere vehicles. Since the beginning, this brand has focused on SUVs that can go places SUVs from other automakers can’t. Currently, Jeep exists under the Stellantis umbrella and acts as the most rugged brand in the company’s portfolio.
Most Jeeps available in the early part of the 2000s are still on sale. The new century saw Jeep expand its line of SUVs to new segments in an attempt to draw in more buyers and increase sales. The Liberty, Commander, Compass, and Patriot joined the lineup during this time, while icons such as the Wrangler, Grand Cherokee, and Cherokee continued with strong sales.
Recently, Jeep has further expanded its lineup with SUVs such as the Renegade, Grand Cherokee L, Wagoneer, and Grand Wagoneer. SUVs such as the Cherokee, Wrangler, and Grand Cherokee have also become even more capable with large updates and meaningful redesigns. To compete in the growing midsize pickup truck segment, Jeep even introduced the Gladiator pickup in 2020, marking the first time in three decades the automaker sold a pickup.
Jeep has been slow to come out with electrified vehicles, but has confirmed it’s working on two all-electric models that will go on sale in the U.S. by 2025. Currently, the brand has introduced popular plug-in hybrid options of the Wrangler and Grand Cherokee with 4xe powertrains.
