2023 Dodge Durango Overview

Expert Review
The 2023 Dodge Durango is a midsize SUV that’s built for families. It comes standard with two rows and five seats, but an optional third row bumps seating capacity to seven with a second-row bench seat or six with second-row captain’s chairs.
Durango buyers can choose from four engines: a base 3.6-liter V6 with 293 horsepower and 260 pound-feet of torque; a 5.7-liter V8 with 360 horses and 390 pound-feet of torque; a 6.4-liter V8 with 475 horsepower and a torque rating of 470 pound-feet; and a supercharged 6.2-liter V8 that generates a whopping 710 horsepower and 645 pound-feet of torque. An 8-speed automatic transmission and rear-wheel drive (RWD) are standard, with all-wheel drive (AWD) available.
This SUV’s base V6 performs capably, but one of the available V8s is necessary if you want the most exciting acceleration; the supercharged V8 is especially thrilling. Passengers can enjoy all that speed in a spacious cabin, with a roomy second row and a third row that’s big enough for shorter adults.
The Durango is also excellent for towing. Models with the 5.7-liter and 6.2-liter V8 engines can pull up to 8,700 pounds.
This Dodge also has some weaknesses to consider: Its cabin design is outmoded, and fuel economy is disappointing, topping out at just 21 mpg combined.

Should I Buy an Older Dodge Durango Instead?
The 2023 Durango is part of this SUV’s third generation, which was introduced with the 2011 model. Any older third-generation model (2011-2022) will be broadly similar to the 2023 Durango, and you can save money by purchasing one of these used SUVs.

User Reviews for the 2023 Dodge Durango
Nice riding and sharp looking
This is mainly my wife’s car and she is very happy with it. It is an exact match to the 2018 GT she traded in. Also had a 2015 RT previously, so you can see she looks led the Dodge line of SUV’s.
Great value reliable SUV
I had 2012 Durango for 11 years without any issue. It has a large cargo area and good towing capability (towed 17’ bow rider many many times). It was so reliable. So I bought 2023 Durango again. I love it.
Beautiful car
I love my car. The inside is a little cheaply made, the radio could go a little louder, and the gas could last longer but otherwise, I can’t complain.
Great ride !
I love love love my 2023 Durango ! I had one back in 2019. And loved it , went back to a Hyundai pallasades after and I hated it ! The Durango just handled the road so much better .
