As one of the top-selling vehicles in the compact car segment, the 2015 Toyota Corolla remains a best buy thanks to its price, fuel economy and renowned reliability.

The 2015 Toyota Corolla is compact car with a stylish, but not polarizing exterior and a basic interior. Combined with a low price point, good fuel economy and high reliability scores, it is easy to see why Toyota builds so many of these compact sedans.

For the 2015 model year, Toyota offers the Corolla in L, LE, LE Eco and S trims.

The base Corolla comes standard with a 60/40 split-folding rear seat, Bluetooth phone connectivity and a USB port. Options and features available on higher trims include keyless entry, cruise control, automatic climate control, a rearview camera, a touch-screen audio system, Bluetooth, a sunroof, push-button start, satellite radio, navigation, smartphone app integration and heated front seats.

If fuel-efficiency is your ultimate goal, the LE Eco model is the way to go. With a different transmission and engine tuning, low-rolling resistance tires, rear spoiler and other aerodynamic improvements, this Corolla yields the best fuel economy.

The 2015 Toyota Corolla has a much more attractive look and a more distinctive front end than it did in previous model years.

The lines down the Corolla’s sides and a more aggressively shaped front end help give the Corolla quite a bit of character. Also, the chrome grille changes in the Premium and S packages, creating a real visual distinction between the trim levels.

In the rear, the taillights flow into the trunk creating stylish lines, and the optional rear spoiler adds a lot of visual appeal to this compact sedan.

The 2015 Toyota Corolla’s interior hits all the basic needs for most car shoppers. There’s good visibility, adjustable driving position for a myriad of buyers and plenty of storage room. While the materials aren’t luxurious, Toyota smartly used padded materials in the right places without overdoing the plastic.

The rear seats are what you would expect for a compact sedan, with room for two large adults or three kids, and there’s ample head- and legroom for a compact car.

With a goal of providing great fuel economy, Toyota uses a 1.8-liter four-cylinder engine for the 2015 Toyota Corolla. However, this engine is tuned two different ways and offers a unique driving experience in the base and Eco trim levels.

For the base model, the Corolla’s engine produces 132 horsepower. Eco models use the same engine and produce 140 horsepower. A six-speed manual transmission is standard and a four-speed automatic transmission is optional on the base Corolla. Many trim levels feature a standard continuously variable transmission (CVT).

The Corolla gets its best fuel economy estimates with the CVT, delivering up to an EPA-estimated 29/38 mpg city/highway. Corolla LE Eco models use slightly less fuel, returning up to 30/42 mpg city/highway.

While the Corolla won’t be confused with a sports car, it performs adequately and provides good fuel economy.

The base 2015 Corolla doesn’t offer too many tech features, but it does come standard with a four-speaker sound system with Bluetooth connectivity. The available Plus package adds a significant amount of technology features, including Toyota’s Entune infotainment system, navigation, satellite radio and push-button start.

The 2015 Toyota Corolla offers a good collection of safety features, as well as a standard rearview camera at most trim levels.

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) gave the 2015 Toyota Corolla its top overall rating of 5 stars. The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) awarded the Corolla its top rating of “Good” in all tests except for the new frontal-offset test where it scored a “Marginal.” During the seat/head restraint test for whiplash, the Corolla scored a top rating of “Good.”

With good fuel economy and a starting price right at $20,000, the 2015 Toyota Corolla an ideal choice for commuters looking to affordably get from point A to point B. Additionally, Toyota’s reputation for reliability gives peace of mind to new buyers and helps keep resale values high.

While the 2015 Toyota Corolla doesn’t exactly wow anyone, it does wow when looking at the checkbook. If you are in the market for a tried and true compact car, it is hard to go wrong with the 2015 Corolla.
