1985 VOLKSWAGEN VANAGON
A fairly accurate description and was as good as could be expected considering the age. Generally an excellent appearance, needs more mechanical work than advertised.
Otherwise a rare find.
Will look a little deeper next time.
1987 VOLKSWAGEN VANAGON
The VW Vanagon is a useful classic car - meant to be in regular service even if the model is over 30 years old. It's a well-made box meant to carry things, made for weekending and road trips. Nothing ever produced in America or Japan is remotely comparable to the efficient, economical Vanagon-Westfalia camper with pop-top and kitchen. The ideal "weekend mechanic's" sort of car, with numerous aftermarket suppliers and a huge online community for support. However, if you are not inclined to work on cars, be aware that many auto shops are not inclined to work on Vanagons! Rear engine/transaxle technology freaks them out, it seems. Advice: Avoid Vanagons with body rust - a cancer that never goes away; surface oxidization (in body seams) is generally not a problem to control. The later, '87-91 model-years are preferable.
