We bought this car as a tow vehicle and family fun car. We have taken it on many major vacations with many long miles across the US and into Mexico. We use it for surfing, windsurfing, camping. mountain biking, hiking, kid field trip and sport transport, towing a camping trailer, towing a box trailer or towing our small sailboat. It is the club wagon version with tinted windows, captains chairs and a bench seat. This van has been tremendous and currently has only 90k miles because we do not use it for everyday commuting or driving around town. At 12-14 miles to the gallon who could afford that? Anyway for a third car this van has been amazing. It is completely reliable, powerful and comfortable.
It hauls tons of sports gear and kids without complaining. We have it outfitted with a full aluminum roof rack you can walk on with diamond plate. It has a rear permanent aluminum ladder. It has a large rocket box on the roof and a custom two bike rack on the front. It stays packed with gear at all times ready to go.
I would buy another but apparently this van will soon be phased out.
